Downloaded this yesterday and it installed very quickly. Seems to be working fine with no issues.

Just wondering if anyone knows any good overclocking apps for this? None of the ones on the Market Place seem to work?

Overclocking requires support in the kernel, and therefore a modified kernel.

if you want overclocking use the jellyfish rom, only it eats your battery and it doesn't make 5% difference except for benchmarking...

Mornin All

Been trawling back through these posts and not seen this issue raised but apologies if its a duplicate.

Is anybody having any WIFI issues with Alpha 5??

I recently loaded Alpha 5 coming from Fibblesans FLB-Froyo and I am finding my wifi is loosing connection on my home network and when I look at the wifi settings it says that the connection is disabled and not the usual remembered. Also battery usage attributed to Wifi is very high in the battery history.

I did not have these issues on FLB-Froyo and did a complete wipe before installing. Anybody have any pointers?

Thanks

P

Good day people.

I am using alpha3. Few things I am wondering about. In orange rom i was able to add MSN Skype in contacts. Why I can't do this in alpha3? And one more. Is it possible to use gosms without standard messaging app? Because it duplicates messages.

Many thanks

Currently running the alpha5, I'm hacing problems with the touchscreen becoming completely unresponsive on the lock screen when pressing the power to wake it. It isn't happening often enough to be a show stopper but it is somewhat irritating other than that seems to be working fine though the LEDs (certainly for charging appear to be working on mine...)

Hopefully not for long, it seems to be fairly easy to make a kernel patch so fingers crossed Paul will give us an update soon :unsure:

Why can´t i pick an other sound than rooster on alarm-app?

Which way must the folder on sdcard created? (there is my ringtone-folder from my Magic 32A with Cyanogen ... but here it must renamed?)

trying to flash alpha 5 (was running alpha 4)

and it stays on the boot screen, ive tried twice now.

what am i doing wrong?

i did a nandroid backup before hand

and ive wiped user data.

but still it stays at the modaco bootup screen :unsure:

How long did you wait for? (before presumably you pulled the battery?) Just because the first time it boots after flashing it stays on the MoDaCo boot screen for a good few minutes before it moves on, it might have even been 5 minutes (I put the phone down and left it!). I did notice that it goes up to full brightness again just before it's about to move onto the home screen

I found this too when I installed r5, it's easily fixed in the settings though. Turn your volume on first, then go to Settings -> Sound -> Then at the bottom check that Haptic Feedback is ticked (you can't change this setting while the phone is on silent). Then also near the top check the Vibrate setting is correct, mine was on Never and i've now changed it to Always (there's also an Only in Silent mode, and Only when not in Silent mode)

Actually, only Finland has a 5Mpix camera at this point. :D

Actually, in Germany the ZTE Blade (named as BASE Lutea) is also shipped with a 5mpix camera.

Is there any solution/workaround to make the 5mpix camera working with this Froyo ROM?

Wow - I had a very nasty experience last night. I run alpha5 MoDaCo Froyo for a while now and yesterday my blade ran out of battery and shut down itself. And I could never boot again. It stayed at the modaco-screen.

I tried:

* booting without sim

* booting without sd-card

* wiping cache + userdata in clockwork_mod

* applying the rom

Till I found out that clockwork_mod mentioned in some step that it cant mount sd-ext. So I repartioned sd-card and then I could boot again. Seem sd-ext was broken. Funny that I couldnt boot with no sd-card in it.

Now I want to restore my backup, but clockwork_mod does not recognize it. Its in sdcard:/clockwork_mod/backup/2011/2011-01-01.20.26.23 but clockwork_mod says it cannot find a file when trying to restore.

any idea?

thnx,

p

Why can't we have alpha 4?

Why would you like to have alpha 4 that comes with the beta kernel instead of a new build with a new kernel that's compiled with the released kernel sources?

Posted

With the release of the new kernel, can we hope to see the Modaco Froyo builds move out of alpha and into beta status soon?

I have a problem with ChompSMS using the MoDaCo r4. Sometimes when opening the app the screen turns white. Neither menu nor back work, only way to go back is the homebutton. Even when I shut down chompSMS via Taskmanager it won't work. Only way to use the app further is a) reboot or :P closing the app via Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage - ChompSMS - Force close (I guess that caption is right, mine is german :D). Have seen this on two different blades running r4. Any Suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance.

Hi Hello!

I'am running the Alpha 5 from the Kitchen and I have got the same Problem, ChompSMS turns white when I try to open it, only pressing the Home-Button helps to get out of the App, and only after i reboot the Phone, i can start the App. i checked out the FAQ on the ChompSMS Homepage, it says, in case of "keeps force closing", you could uninstall it, reboot the phone and reinstall it. I tried that and now im waiting for the "white screen-syndrom" again, maybe it helped. :D

Because you have to pay for it, I'm not paying for it.

Why?

I can understand if a child at school said that but not anyone else

apart from anything else it stands out as a reason for people not to want to develop mods/roms/apps

I can't work due to a disability, I claim no benefits at all and have no income whatsoever and live on what my partner earns by working in an office, yet I was able to afford the £10 membership to allow me to download the roms and it was well worth the money

Yes it took me a few weeks before i could justify spending the money but it was definitely worth it - it's not a fortune and even those people who don't work and are on benefits )who get more money than I do) can afford it - if they wanted to.

Edit: Although the above is true I feel I must point out I do have "some income" I get £5 for every sim activated via my link in my signature once every 6 months

so far I've made £20 - not a fortune but it is income
