Guest samjam Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) And will it have the updated Kernel? hehe :D Every time I see a new post on this thread I think "whoah! It's out! With a new kernel" but it's always some guy asking about it. So I want a go at getting peoples hopes up - hence this post - so to any readers who got all excited; learn to be patient, like I am! Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Updating the prebakes today and posting alpha6 with version one of MCK (MoDaCo Custom Kernel). Simple compile with additional features like EXT4, CIFS module, TUN module etc., i'll work up from there. :D P

Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Oh, keypad backlights work in the new release. As I said they would when the kernel source dropped, lol! P
Guest faulknerm Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Great work as ever Paul. Looking forward to the new kernel rolling. :D
Guest Burgess Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Cannot seem to download alpha5 as it says not found

Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 As hinted above, this is an interim release to get feedback on the new kernel (i.e. - does everything work that should!) :D P
Guest Lloydy Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Fantastic work Paul. Downloading now... although it does say it's going to take 51 minutes! Will let you know how I get on with it.
Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I don't have a set of headphones handy... if someone could confirm the FM radio 1.05 app works OK on this ROM I can add it to the kitchen. P
Guest ICDeadPpl Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Wifi doesn't work with alpha6, it shows "Error" under WLAN. Upgraded without wipe from alpha5.
Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Huh, that should be fixed. Let me redownload! P
Guest oh!dougal Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Huh, that should be fixed. Let me redownload! P Assuming you are re-uploading, "point release names" (like 6.1) for different versions would be helpful so that those that have got different versions have some means of knowing that they have something different (it also helps you to filter user responses ... !)
Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I'm not re-uploading because i've just flashed alpha6 and wifi works fine! :D Anyone else? P
Guest Lew247 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Paul did you fix the bit on the lockscreen where it should show giffgaff as the network? it's working on some of the other roms
Guest faulknerm Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Wifi working fine for me also.
Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Paul did you fix the bit on the lockscreen where it should show giffgaff as the network? it's working on some of the other roms Which bit where and what is it showing now? :D I should probably get a giffgaff SIM. :P P
Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Wifi doesn't work with alpha6, it shows "Error" under WLAN. Upgraded without wipe from alpha5. Redownload... P
Guest Lew247 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Sorry should have said I've not downloaded it yet to try, still on Alpha 5 and stupid me it is fixed on alpha 5 duh not even noticed it was where you changed something to show the word mocado instead of being locked in one of the previous releases ignore me - not had enough cuppa's today
Guest Paul Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Ah yeah, the ZTE lockscreen. Best fix is using the stock Froyo lockscreen. :D P
Guest Simon O Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 It's probably the stock lockscreen that fixes it as I'm using that in my ROM and giffgaff shows correctly.
Guest ICDeadPpl Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Redownload... P Redownloaded and installed without wipe, Wifi works now! :D
Guest rochitka Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) So if this is using the new kernel.. can anymore confirm whether the wifi disconnect on sleep bug is fixed? I don't have a san fran at the mo so I cannot test sorry Edited January 12, 2011 by rochitka
