Guest Lew247 Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Nope, first press the power button then the menu button. Pressing menu twice will result in, erm, nothing :D. In which case my vote is leave it so menu button unlocks as well as the swipe thingy
Guest Paul Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 On the other side of the metaphorical coin I like having menu to unlock (you still need to press the power button to bring up the lock screen - two menu presses does not unlock). The fact that it has taken people so long to even notice this (I'm on a pre-Christmas alpha4 with it activated) shows that it's not that much of an issue for them, whereas I think of it as a real convenience. Hmm, decisions decisions! Or a kitchen option I think. :D P
Guest jpearn Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Switchpro can optionally leave wifi on in airplane mode. You wouldn't want the phones default airplane mode to do that surely? That would somewhat defeat the purpose. Unless you never fly I spose. It's for when I work offshore so I can use the phone using the boats wifi for emails etc., but not drain the battery searching for networks constantly !
Guest Paul Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Alrighty, prepping r7 now, kitchen online in the next hour or so. :D Check post 3 for a sneak peek at the changelog. :P P

Guest juniperz Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Does your latest address the wifi solution discussed here? And the CKPD-daemon thing from here? Thanks
Guest Paul Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Not 100% sure if the wpa_supplicant fix is applied. The CPKD-daemon is no longer an issue in my experience. P

Guest Paul Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 So here's the deal... I can fix Facebook contact sync... BUT... it will mean making the update a 'mandatory wipe' update. Worth it or not? P
Guest cobhc Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 I'd say worth it. Is this still based on the .29 kernel or has it been upgraded to .32?
Guest Putterill Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 So here's the deal... I can fix Facebook contact sync... BUT... it will mean making the update a 'mandatory wipe' update. Worth it or not? P Yes :D
Guest Lloydy Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 A suggestion for r8 a "set to vibrate" option (like the silent mode one) on the power hold?
Guest juniperz Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 So here's the deal... I can fix Facebook contact sync... BUT... it will mean making the update a 'mandatory wipe' update. Worth it or not? P Not for me.

Guest cobhc Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Would this include overclocking as well Paul? I may try this out if so.
