Phone is now working with 2.1 Os but I have some newb Questions.

Thanks to Wee Thomas and his write up I was able to recover my phone today. It originally started as 1.6 from the US dell site and then I messed it up trying to update to 2.2.

Now that the phones fixed (I'm very grateful) i need some more info.

Firmware Version - 2.1 update1

Baseband version - GAUSB1A120321-US

Kernel version - 2.6.29-perf

Oem Version - GAUSB1A120321

Build Number 6941

Ok with that info I need to figure out the following:

Is this the unlocked UK Version of 2.1 (i'm pretty sure it is but I wanna make sure)?

Does it matter if I have a UK version?

I'm looking to go to 2.2 from here preferably the official US version. How do I go about that?

And finally would I just be better off using the MoDaCo version of 2.2 or Dj Steves vs the offical US 2.2?
