Why is it doing it? Also how do I change the boot image. The first one the says Finnish FillyJank RLS4 without the 'please wait' . I can change all the other boot images except this one. where is it installed? Yes i would like to no this i think its built in the bootimage so edit extract it change picture and rebuild i will be testing soon.
Guest HarveyCroft Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) I installed RLS 4 this morning onto a new TFT Orange San Francisco, and it works well apart from one serious problem. If the SIM Card is locked with a PIN, when you boot the 'phone, the 'Enter Unlock Code' screen appears, but you can't enter the code. It takes the first two digits OK, but then seems to get confused and either goes into a repeat loop, or just 'gums up'. Fortunately if you power the 'phone down at this time you do not end up with a damaged SIM. To get over this, I had to put the SIM into another 'phone and remove the lock. Its not a problem with the sim (UK Voda payg) as I used it in the phone with this ROM before I enabled the PIN Code lock ... using the 'phone to do it. Harvey Edited December 26, 2010 by HarveyCroft
Guest edge123 Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 With stock ROM I were able to record all calls (with fingertipaccess's ultimate voice recorder). But on Finnish Fillyjonk RLS4 this app unable to record the incoming voith (only my voice). So.... What I need to change in order to be able to record incoming voice?
Guest jurrasstoil Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) Try the Youtube-Player and touch the Display once while playing a video. When the Control-Bar (Play, Pause and so on) fades away the Video does NOT get laggy with hw_ui enabled. I think with hw_ui disabled the Videos gets laggy while the Control-Bar is fading. This is my proof that hw_ui does something. Can anyone confirm this? EDIT: just installed a absolute clean RLS4 with Wipe Data + Cache. Youtube Video with Controll-Bar fading and without hw_ui: laggy Youtube Video with Controll-Bar fading and with hw_ui: absolute smooth! So hw_ui is awesome! Spread the word! yeah, enabled it again and now rockplayer plays videos in fullscreen without lagging or framedrops. never had an issue with youtube w/o hw_ui tho. fyi 20 minutes of mp4 footage @ 624x352 stretched to fullscreen, all data connections disabled and at 672mhz drains about 10% battery. That would me ~3h20m videoplayback from 100%-0% battery. Only 1/3rd of an iphone 3gs/4 and half of an iphone 3G. Edited December 26, 2010 by jurrasstoil
Guest jasonXXx Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 My original plan was to use AHB clock = cpuclock/3 as the default kernel but as it seemed to be stable for everyone who had tested it (in a different thread) I decided to make it standard. That's actually why AHB overclocking was added even for 400, 480 and 600MHz. Perhaps it was a bad idea but as it gives a noticable increase in Quadrant speed even at 600MHz it felt like a good thing. I'll make another kernel with AHB overclocking starting at 672MHz EDIT: Attached new kernel... Hi can you please provide me with cpu frequences for this boot.img so i can make a setcpu config.txt for the sdcard can you list all frequences from low to high thanks.
Guest sorrowuk Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Did anyone find out how to change the first boot image in this rom ? I can change all the other ones, but how do I change this one

Guest jurrasstoil Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Could you please test without overclocking? And please consider: 90€ (Blade) vs. 650€ (iphone 4) thanks it drains ~9-10% for 20 minutes of the same footage w/o overclocking. best case w/o overclocking would be an additional ~20minutes. the thing about the batterylife is, that the battery has almost the same specs as the iphone 3G battery, but it seems like the 3G is more efficient when it comes to videoplayback.
Guest The-One Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Kaffe what about the source of your kernel, can we have it? :(
Guest m0magic Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Hi kaffe. I still got problems with my proximity sensor during calls! Sometimes I cant get the screen to light up again which is really bad ;) Thx for the best ROM anyway.. Hope you can sort this out :( Fix for this anyone? It's happening quite regularly for me (heavy talker) the only way to get the screen to come back on is either you stick a micro usb in to the phone (this ends the call!), take the battery out or the person you call cuts the phone off.
Guest hanswurst90 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) what do i exactly have to do if i have tft, clockwork 2.5.0.9 and RLS3 if i want to update to RLS4 and have hwui without loosing my settings and programmes? Edited December 28, 2010 by hanswurst90

Hmmm. I did wonder if the SF/Blade (or specifically the MSM7227 chipset therein) contained any specific video decode hardware? However, a quick search of the web locates the following blurb about the MSM7227: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Qualcomm-An...et-104554.shtml The bit about "30 fps WVGA video encode / decode and display support" may indicate that there is hardware decode support in there. However, this is a little vague so perhaps they have just stuck to a software solution which might explain the poorer battery life in comparison to the more recent iPhones. The alternative is that hardware support exists but no drivers have been written to support it. Quite possible for a budget device, I'm sorry to say, especially if ZTE's inability to provide functional code for the kernel is anything to go by! How does the Legend perform with video playback in comparison? I understand that this uses the MSM7227 too but obviously a direct comparison won't be possible with the Legend's lower-res and smaller screen. However, it might be able to provide a general indication about the capabilities of the chip and the Android OS support for the hardware.

The MSM7227 isnt that bad, we still have the same gpu from the first Snapdragon thinguies.

You copy the addons you want (hw_ui and overclock) from inside the Addons.rar onto your SD-Card. Then boot into Clockwork and do the same as you would when installing a new ROM,just install the two addons you want. After that just reboot. (Clockwork: Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sd card > Zip-File 1 and after that Zip-File 2) I would like to know how to get rid of it, too. But the best is just to do a Clockwork Backup before applying the addons. Edited December 28, 2010 by PeterDreher

Does anybody know a different way? But this is pretty save, since you do a Clockwork Backup. Hope that helped?!

Guest xytraz Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) Hello, I just flashed with the Fillyjonk RLS4, I can't sign in to the market or googlemail via 3G anymore, works over Wifi though. I read somewhere here in the forums that one is supposed to connect to market with 3g the first time one boots the device, which I did, still doesn't work. I've got the German Base Lutea (TFT, 5MP). Can someone give me a hint please? I have really tried to solve my problem by reading this entire thread, as well as searching the forum + googled my eyes out. Obviously I must be overlooking something, but none the less, I am stuck... Wish I had the stock Lutea rom, but the hosting for it is down. Maybe someone could be so kind and mail it to me? Edit: Found an original Lutea boot.img on a German forum, I used it to restore my original rom backup which was previously messed up by Superboot. Now market works fine over 3g :( I am back to where I was before this adventure. Why can't I sign in over 3g when using custom firmwares? Edited December 29, 2010 by xytraz
Guest lo0p Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 I use my OSF a lot listening to audiobooks while falling asleep in my bed, having 2.1 loudspeakers connected via the 3.5mm port. But, as soon as the phone goes into standby, there is some strange "brrp....brrp... brrp...", about every ~0.5 second, coming out of the external speakers. This is not depending on the mp3- or videoplayer, I can reproduce this by simply connecting the external ls and then waiting until standby of the phone starts. Any ideas or solutions? :(
