Guest cgk Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I'm finding it an amazing phone when considering it cost £70 - if I get 3 months use of it and it falls to pieces well... it cost £70.. :)
Guest Orrin Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I returned mine after the screen froze completely, but that aside it had a lot of features for the money. Big negatives for me were the terrible camera, cheap build quality and poor battery life. Still, you get what you pay for and it did have a gorgeous screen for under £100.
Guest JolyonS Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I'm happy with mine but to be honest I bought it as a toy to geek around with rather than as a phone (still haven't used it to make a voice call) so when I encounter problems it's more fun than it just working.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 i don't have exactly the SF it's the french version aka internet tactile II (very stupide name from orange) same hardware than the SF i think (512 megs ram, 2gigs SD, 3.2 megs pixs camera) i have it since more or less 2 weeks paid it 129 euros i have installed FBL 2.2 rom and it rocks yes very very happy with this phone. what i love is the "custom side possibility" :)
Guest paper doll Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Mine lasted 9 days before the touchscreen froze, now probably getting a replacement with an inferior screen which is prone to dead pixels and flickering so not happy. The rest of the phone is very poor quality, the camera, the on switch, the plastics, the battery didn't even last one day when I wasn't even using it. When I took it to the Orange shop the lady said "another one" to her colleague as well, so I imagine ZTE's quality control is of the usual Chinese standard. Edited December 13, 2010 by paper doll
Guest Polythene Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Could not be happier with it! Stunning screen, fantastic price.
Guest JimiEvil Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) So after a lot of deliberation on a replacement for a broken Motorola Dext/Cliq, I decided against a Motorola Milestone 2 and yesterday went for the SF to last the remaining 15 months of my contract! Here are my impressions so far, with comparisons to what I read prior to purchase: Oh, and it's a white SF by the way :) Build Quality: Great! Some people seem to have beef with the fact it's plastic, but I really don't think it could feel much sturdier! Only slight criticism would be regarding the buttons, but to be honest, theyre fine for the job they do! Screen: I think it's a well known fact it's great! So responsive, compared to the Cliq screen, which to be frank, was awful! Operation: No real problems so far, everything seems to work smoothly, no crashes. Orange mail app doesn't work, but I wouldnt' use it so I don't really care! Wifi lost connection a few times, but seems a common thing, battery saving maybe? Anyway, simple to reconnect! Battery: So far this is definitely the big disappointment...conveniently, the < 15% battery has just this minute popped up...with a total time of 9h17m, which isn't too great, considering i'm usually out of the house for longer than that! Any suggestions to improve this would be great! :) Overall Verdict: Fantastic! efinitely made the right decision! I look forward to experimenting with it further! Edited December 14, 2010 by JimiEvil
Guest streather Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 My verdict, Nice phone shame about the battery life.
Guest Gryphonic Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Nice Phone - it is cheaply constructed, but for £100 i wasn't expecting anything amazing. With everyone's complaints about battery, i've found the best way of saving juice is just to have a power control widget on my homescreen, and turn wifi off when i'm not using it. Currently 13h41m unplugged with 60% battery - it gets charged about once every 2 days
Guest cmberry20 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) For the money this phone is amazing! Think about it, £100 for a phone that does almost everything a £300 phone does. £100!!! Look at it this way, £100 a few years ago would only get you an average mid range phone that didnt have 1/2 the features of a top end phone. Now, it gets you a phone that can more or less do everything a top end on can do. For me its the best phone for less than £100 thats ever been release in the UK. Is it the best phone - no, not by a long way - but its ONLY £100!!!!! Edited December 14, 2010 by cmberry20
Guest clivec Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Can't go wrong for the dosh, only thing i would like to see resolved would be the poxy unreliable wifi, and slightly better video recording quality. That said, it cost £100 as everyone said, and I dare say those issues will be resolved in time.
Guest Stooby Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I bought my SF in early November and I'm still really impressed with it for the price. The build quality is actually pretty good, it's some of the components that feel cheap (hardware buttons etc.) I have had a Milestone and a Desire and tbh this phone can do pretty much everything those could but for a lot less money. It would be nice if the battery lasted a bit longer, but it never will because I spend so much time playing around with it!
Guest Ricey155 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 so far so good, loaded from day 1 alpha 3 rom with 2.2 and seems quick and efficient cant grumble just wish i could leave it alone love new gadgets expecially on a new os never seen before :)
Guest cnhust Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 There is no any probelem with my blade until now, i use the stock ROM with removing the Orange Apps, and install the launcherpro and some other Apps & Games, it runs very fluently, i am very happy with this phone, haha~!
Guest targetbsp Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I think low battery life is just a first impression. Cause when its new you can't help but play with it. After you settle down it'll go 2 - 4 days depending on your use easily. Use it like a phone and it'll last like a phone. use it like a laptop and it won't... :)
Guest cgk Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Yeah my battery life seems pretty good, but I made good use of a power widget and turn off background polling. Having said that, is there any high capacity battery for the phone? Since I saved so much money, I don't mind paying for one!
Guest cartierv Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Well I do like it. Apart from the reboots which are becoming an issue now. As a unit it's not the best looking piece of kit, but it does look much better with a case of some sort.
