Thank you Steve!!! SUCCESS

After a couple of false starts (trying to install update-1.4.6-nobb.zip on a 309-11548 build).

I started from scratch:

Using rebelsim v1.2

Installed 4399.

Installed 8105.

Installed update-1.4.6-nobb.zip using recovery-alt.img.

Now boot was in a loop. Rebooted.

Vol-up+Vol-down+start. Performed 1. Factory reset.

It now boots beautifully - and FAST.

Telstra data is OK (but only EDGE/GPRS - no H or 3G because Telstra is on 850 band)

Virgin Mobile is OK - 3G and H - because Optus in on 900 band.

Use http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...ing-the-streak/ for instructions on installing 4399 etc.

re: Thank you Steve!!! SUCCESS

Rebelsim v1.3 beta - data is NOT working.

The carrier IS detected.

The Icon shows R.

No APN's are populated.

Again Rebelsim v1.2 works FINE.

Thanks Steve. Smooth upgrade from v1.1.1 to v1.4.6 no bb version. No factory reset required. Everything is working fine. The orientation issues are now a thing of the past. No random reboots either. All in all, truly awesome. Waiting patiently for v1.5.0 no bb version.

PS: You are the only reason I have stuck with my DELL Streak.

Cheers.

I totally agree that the streak is a capable device but its only because of your work that it is just beginning to realize its true potential.

Absolutely!! If it was left to Dell alone, I'm sure all of us would've probably sold/given away/destroyed our Streaks by now!! Thanks a million for all your hard work on the Streak, Steve!! :)
