Guest The Sorcerer Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) I've used Winamp for years on my PC and was going to use that on my San Francisco but saw a post saying that it drains the battery very quickly so (1) is that true, and (2) if so, what else do you suggest? And just in case it makes a difference to your recommendations, I don't necessarily need tons of features like equalizers or whatever - I just press "Play" and let it do its thing :P Edited February 8, 2011 by The Sorcerer
Guest Rotmann Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 No it's not true. Use search before uselessly opening a new topic. Look.

Thank you very much for that most helpful reply Rotmann - the sun is obviously shining in your world today :P Searching for "best music app" brought up only four posts, one of which was the one regarding Winamp draining the battery. Of course, if I'd have thought to search for the string "poweramp vs doubletwist, whats your favourite music player and why?" I may well have got to the topic you pointed me to.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) i like vlc you can stream your collection from your computer Edited February 8, 2011 by Phoenix Silver

Guest Bonbergol Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Think PowerAMP ist the best you can find it in the amrket
Guest The Sorcerer Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Thank you folks - Poweramp it is then :P

Posts like yours are the ones that lead to the fragmentation of the forum. My logic would have told me to search for Winamp, but what do I know? If I weren't right the mod would have not merged your thread with this one. Edited February 8, 2011 by Rotmann
Guest The Sorcerer Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Posts like yours are the ones that lead to the fragmentation of the forum. My logic would have told me to search for Winamp, but what do I know? If I weren't right the mod would have not merged your thread with this one. The subject line of my post was "Best music app?", ie, a 'general' question. I would have searched for Winamp if I had only wanted to ask a specific question about Winamp and nothing else, but I was asking a general question. And pointing me to a topic with the subject title of "Poweramp vs Doubletwist" means absolutely nothing whatsoever to me because I don't (didn't) know what Poweramp and Doubletwist are :P I would have guessed that Poweramp had something to do with battery life, not music - and as for Doubletwist - what the hell is that?? (I know NOW but I didn't then). Fragmentation of a web-based forum like this will always happen no matter how hard you try to stop it. Why? Because topics get too big and unwieldy. The topic on gel cases and screen protectors, for example, has grown to 38 pages; one of the topics discussing just one version of a Sebastian404 ROM is now over 58 pages (if I remember correctly). People just do not have the time or the inclination to wade through all that - they WILL ask the same questions over and over. USENET newsgroups are a far better way to discuss things than web-based forums IMHO but I guess we're stuck with them - and stuck with attitudes such as yours.

Guest dud89 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 No one else uses Rockbox? I always flash my mp3 players with it, stock UI looks crappy but has a lot of options.
