Did you use the nobb version? The instructions are very clear regarding the use of rebelsim.

For people having issues finding 1.4.1, I recommend using 1.3. I did it for my phone, and it fixed allllll of my gps issues, and also the weather widgets issues I was having. Hope this helps people!

I went to 1.5 over the weekend and had problems with GPS, some FCs and rotation issues.........I went back to 1.4.6 for the last day and a half and it was perfect............just flashed to 1.5 and gps locked.........hmmmm..............I'll stay on it for a bit and see what happens.........is it mostly US folks having GPS issues this time??

Nope. I'm in Brazil and had the same issues. Take a look up and you'll see a workaround (I didn't test it tough).

temporary fix for GPS location problem: (well at least for me)

US Streak. i never had problems with gps on 1.4.6. updated to 1.5 and factory reset on clockwork before booting to ui. when booted everything worked except GPS, couldnt pinpoint location. no official fix yet so i decided to see what i can do.

i installed v1.4.1 and gps wass back on :)

i installed v1.4.6 and gps worked, but i decided to do a factory reset (for testing). did it via stock recovery mode. gps gone again

i installed v1.4.1 and gps was working again :)

i installed v1.5 (without any factory resets) and i have no problem getting my location :(

i actually did this a few times to see if results were the same, they were.

so yah, doing factory reset for me killed my location service. all i had to do was go back to a build that restored my gps location service and then install the latest build over it without factory reset.

this is a temporary fix for me until an official fix is up.

zrospeed, you are a GENIUS!! This fixed the GPS/location problem for me as well, and now I'm running 1.5 with full location/GPS enabled! This hopefully brings us closer to a fix for this issue in the next release of DJ_Steve's ROM.

EDIT: US Streak here, with the 130500-US baseband.

New phone, ready to move to 2.2

I don't understand this though

"Steps 2-4 are only needed if you are coming from a build OLDER than 1.2"

I'm on build 6601

You need steps 2-4... The "1.2" version refers to one of the early DJ_Steve's Froyo builds.

What those steps do is flash the new baseband to your phone, without which the new ROMs will not work.

Over on the XDA forums there is a very detailed thread for upgrading and downgrading, and it might be worth your while to take a look at it before flashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=805112

I also was having GPS issues, but I flashed to 1.5 on Sunday night, and after doing a few factory resets Sunday and then a few restarts (from normal use) yesterday and today, it now seems GPS is working for me. I'll post back if it goes down again. (I still have the blank calendar issue, but I just haven't applied Steve's fix yet).

More importantly, I looked around a bit and didn't see anything, so please let me know if I've missed something: is there a known issue with screen timeout? My screen dims after <10 seconds of nonuse. To be clear, it *does* seem that my Settings > Screen Timeout is doing something, since it does not lock unless it's been > 30 seconds or whatever I set, but the actual screen will shut off after only 5 or so (and not just the backlight). Is anyone else having this issue / have a solution?

Also, how about non-english keyboards? Is this also a known issue? I have a bunch of keyboards enabled, but when I switch to them, the keyboard letters stay English (and they produce english characters).

(I'd rather not reflash, since I haven't yet taken the time to figure out how to do so without losing everything I've got, although I won't if I don't do a factory reset right?)

You will not lose any data, settings or apps as long as you don't do a factory reset, and only flash/wipe cache.

are you serious???

okay so i just installed the patch.

almost everything works as mentioned, except for the GPS, it finds the location, but it cannot find a GPS after selecting to give directions to somewhere. i also noticed that wifi turns off when 3g data is on or viceversa, that was before the patch though, it continues to do so.

so in other words:

calendar - works

ringtone selection - works

luminosity/brightness - works

gps - buggy

thanks
