Guest Luxusxda Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Rebooted twice to dell logo. This did not happen with 1.4.6 or 2.2 official with 1.4.6 kernel. Also has a strange slowdown following a call - had to reset. Maybe i need to factory reset...
Guest vinokirk Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 dont play mkvs sounds like a plan - i hate them with a vengence personally They are 720p .mkv's that I have converted into .mp4's. They played fine on 1.1.1 but then from 1.2 onwards they gave the horrible green line. There is definately something up with the media player. Even with .mp4's that come from non 720p .mkv files, I still get an error message playing over the video that says 'This is an audio only file'. So there is still an issue with the media player. The main use for my Streak is to play media files, so it's a big thing for me.
Guest ForumFerret Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Just chiming in with another me-too on dock-related sound issues. I use a desktop dock at home and in my car; the dock in the car doesn't actually detect that it's docked (but I still get power and audio-out). I suspect that's due to the voltage coming in via the car-charger plugged into the desktop dock's USB in, so likely unrelated to the latest build. At home, however, I'm experiencing some problems using a desktop dock as well. The Streak successfully detects it's been placed in a home dock, and I have the options set so that it asks me when I dock it whether or not it should disable the onboard (rear) speaker. I'm at around 85% failure rate with respecting the choice I make on this prompt: at home, I want it to remain enabled so I can hear my alarm go off, but it's only worked once in the last 5 days. Other days, I'll see the alarm going off, but have no sound - pick up phone off dock, rear speaker kicks in and you hear the alarm.
Guest Johnny82 Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Well I booted up with the headphones in, then once in I took them out. Been good for about an hour now. If it comes back and going to 1.4.6 doesn't fix it, ill call dell and return. Well, going back to 1.4.6 sorted it all out. No more speaker bugs. The rear speaker works perfect again. I am going to try 1.5 again later as the speaker was literally the only bug I came across. Here is hoping it works after I install it again. Love these releases, thanks a ton!
Guest LorD CLockaN Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Steven said on his tweet that he will release 1.5.1 as soon as he gets back from work :)
Guest jannism Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 I bet no-one's noticed an FC on System Update. I mean, why would you? :)
Guest Adilson Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) Is there a way to do a full backup? By full I mean, everything, from contacts to applications and restore them all at once easily? I want to help testing but can't afford to go from one rom to another and setting it all my environment again. Ok, answering myself, I discovered Nandroid. Looks like it does work the way I want it right? TIA. Edited December 15, 2010 by Adilson
Guest rubixcube Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Hi guys, this rom for streak looks awesome but i have a LOT OF WEIRD BUGS with 1.4.6 Like (in order of wtf makes me angry): -wild reboots while playing games/watching video content on my SD/when using google navigation ** THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT is that sometimes the phone don't reboot from itself, i have to pull battery off. Sometimes, the phone don't reboot at all and i have to format /system partition and reflash the rom. -Locking screen is unlockable. Got to push on lock button and try to unlock it many times to get it unlocked. -Got GPS disconection each minute when using google navigation (and sometimes a disconection get the phone rebooting) if you could help getting those f*cking bugs off ... please help me :'(
Guest ClippinWings Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 please help me :'( The lock issue is nto steve's fault... it's a design flaw. when the phone is in a pocket, the screen seems to get "de-sensitized" and makes unlocking it difficult if not impossible. Some things to try: 1 - press press the home or back buttons then try again 2 - turn screen off then on and try again 3 - two handed: hold the unlock slider with one figer, when the dot appears that you are supposed to drag the slider to, touch it with another finger, then release the first finger(simulates a sliding action) 4 - Get the menu unlock app to enable unlock with the menu button 5 - don't carry it in your pocket

Guest Amdathlonuk Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Is there a way to do a full backup? By full I mean, everything, from contacts to applications and restore them all at once easily? I want to help testing but can't afford to go from one rom to another and setting it all my environment again. Ok, answering myself, I discovered Nandroid. Looks like it does work the way I want it right? TIA. Nandroid is the way to go if you want to RESTORE your phone at the point you backed it up. This restores the ROM, settings,...everything. Basically it saves your whole phone as an image and then restores it from there, so even if you flash a NEW rom and restore with nandroid, you will get the ROM back that the nandroid was taken from. If you want to restore your apps and settings but keep the new rom you've flashed then go for titanium backup. It restores my 400+ apps flawlessly. it takes about 15 mins but they're all as they were, e.g. levels completed, notes I have saved are restored...etc. Hope that makes sense.

That made a lot of sense, thanks. So I think I'll use a combination of both. I'll make a nandroid and a titanium backup. If I decide to keep the rom I'm testing, I'll restore via titanium, if not, via nandroid. Thanks!
Guest nozza Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Is there any chance that wma/wmv will be supported again? The 1.6 that came with the O2 streak supported it and then it dissapeared from 2.1 onwards... don't know if the official 2.2 supports it? cheers
