I'm having problems installing 1.5.1.

I have the install .zip's for 1.5.0 and 1.5.1 on my sd card.

1.5.0 flashes fine everytime. Yet 1.5.1 never flashes properly and hangs on the Dell logo (it doesn't even get to the coloured logo).

I have downloaded 1.5.1 from all the mirrors multiple times and still nothing.

I am now at work so I don't have access to ADB or the ability to d/l files.

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas how to reslove?

Hi, I have a small problem on the excellent 1.5.1 build.

I use the dock as a stand at night and the dock application comes up as usual. The problem is that, no matter what option is selected in the dock application settings, the unit's sound cuts off. For me, this was a problem before, was fixed in 1.5.0 but has come back again for 1.5.1.

Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

Many thanks and Great Job on the build Mr Hyde!

A few people have seen this problem including me. But I am guessing DJ needs logs from the official build to fix this. DJ_Steve has already started a thread of this but I guess there is not solution yet.

Will admit to having some difficulties installing some of these ROMs, but it not always a problem for Steve...

I have 1.5.1 on mine and at the moment no problems that I perceive in my everyday usage, so maybe it's just a bad install ?

I have learned to ALWAYS reflash the current ROM, before reverting to an older one.

FWIW the accelerometer is a ongoing issue without a known fix. I get it intermittently with 1.5.1 although didn't suffer with any of the 1.4.x builds.

Anyone else get a problem with call sound dropping? Every call so far on 1.5.1 this has happened to me: about 2 minutes in, caller on the other end completely disappears but the call remains intact. In each case the person on the end has been able to hear me when I have lost them although it's still unclear as to whether one of us eventually hangs up or the call ends by itself.

First of all- thank you for all of the hard work on these mods. Greatly appreciated!

I'm on 1.5.1 right now, noticed a few things- not sure if they have been reported yet, sorry if they have already. Nothing vital, just pointing them out :)

1) When streaming music (Pandora or default media player) on headphones, the email notification sound will trigger the phone speakers for a portion of the notification. Let me know if you need me to explain this better.

2) While playing onboard music using the default player in 1.5.1, receiving a text message (sound notification) will often halt the music playback and make that sound file temporarily unplayable (error says that it doesn't support that type of file). I am forced to go to a different song, then back to the original to get it to play again.

3) The overall sound level on my device seems to have been dampened on 1.5.1 while using the headphones jack. I stream music in my car and using headphones, and I've noticed that the volume has decreased a noticable amount. It is not too much of a change; for instance, if the original had volume from 1-10, it feels like it now only has 1-8. Doesn't matter too much on headphones, but is definitely stunting music playback in my car (bass is extremely muffled... my 12's aren't liking it! ;) )

Other than those, haven't really noticed many other problems. Again, this mod is awesome, I'm running it at 1.19ghz and it's extremely stable... infinitely better than stock. Thank you again!

Steve,

I saw 2.3 code was relased today. How long do you think it will be before you have it running on the Streak?

For those complaining about the font, you can easily change it by flashing a different one over it, incuding returning back to te ubuntu font. Changing the font was one of the first things I did, just go to te xda page where you can pick from 200 different fonts.

200 flashable fonts

In response to #1 and #2. This has always been an issue in all the builds going back to 1.6, not just DJ_Steve's. You are in the car listening to music and all of a sudden you get a sudden distorted pause and then the music plays again. Seems to me like this is on purpose. If you have your phone in your pocket listening to music real loud, there is a possibility you might not hear the notification sound on an incoming text or email. So it does like you listed above to notify you better. Always have liked this function. #3 Headphone audio has always been quiet going back to 1.6 again. DJ_Steve's audio fixes mainly cured in call and rear speaker loudness. He hasn't got a fix for the lack of loudness in the headphones yet. So basically all your bugs are DELL related, not the ROM master.

Or you could just flash the repacked 1.5.1 ROM, which has gone back to the vastly better ubuntu font :). The first post link to 1.5.1 is now the repacked one, and I've just flashed and got the ubuntu fonts back.

The md5sum of the new repacked 1.5.1 is ee8e4647fe76ddf8026655bfd59e6530 just in case anyone has a doubt (the original 1.5.1 has an md5sum of 3494567ee4ac53e28e4c855fb51014e4)

Thanks for point that out... easier/quicker to do this than to flash rom and have to reflash battery meter and make build.prop adjustments again (not a huge deal, but still easier!) And HOLY CHOICES :)

Don't you just hate it when in the excitement to flash a new ROM, you hit the camera button when the selector is on Factory reset..........

I am running official 2.2 froyo build 318, can I just flash directly to this without flashing the baseband? Just want to make sure I don't miss anything. I have clockwork recovery installed and working...
