Guest superutp Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 am coming from 319...flash 1.5.2...gets stuck on the boot screen...the logo comes..the logo animation comes but then its stuck... so do I need to flash the amss.mbn file?? if not..shud I atleast try flashing it n checking?
Guest jadeboy Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Yes this is where it gets confusing. I updated from 1.4.6 to 1.5.2 without updating the Baseband and I seem to be working fine. My current Baseband is GAUSB1A130500-EU If there is a more recent Baseband and the advice is to update to it then I have no problem with doing so. But, like I said, I seem to be doing OK as it is. +1
Guest rockymtnbri Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Seriously you got me there, i thought there's a need to update the baseband cause mine was rebooting, the moment i flash to the new one it was able to boot and everything was fine. I too am confuse now. my previous baseband was the same as yours now my new baseband is GAUSB1A131800-EU My baseband is 30900 and I just flashed the update without updating the baseband and my Streak is working fine. Are there any advantages to a baseband update at this point?
Guest alert_bri Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Great update Stephen, google map controls now work perfectly and everything feels responsive. The green used for the tool bar is too light, and the battery icon requires fighter pilot eyesight... But these are very minor quibbles in an otherwise super job! Thanks for all of your great work - it makes the Dell Streak perfect imho. Cheers Brian

Guest CodaWolf Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 ok still no luck on my end going from 1.4.6 to 1.5.2 I am almost ready to revert to a stock image and start over unless someone has an idea. I did the base band upgrade then flashed the 1.5.2 image I get to the unlock screen the it reboots and starts over.
Guest Sans143 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 1,2,3 YEs. U do have to flash BB. My question is how do you flash the new bb. I remember someone put down the steps awhile back I think since 1.2. I remember they said to save the file somewhere on your computer then type fastboot on the command prompt and it will open it. everytime I hit fastboot on clockwork on the windows computer the command prompt goes away. Kind of lost and see if you can help me run the new bb to update to 1.5.2.

Put a folder with fastboot in the root of c, use command prompt to input the supplied commands once your in the folder in command my root happens to be streak so, run command input cd streak, then copy and paste said commands from first post Edited January 2, 2011 by panamoncreel0

I got a fastboot folder in my C drive but then get lost from there.
Guest superutp Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 setcpu keep fc's on changing the clock speed...anybody faced this???
Guest jonnybruce Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Just updated 1.5.1 to 1.5.2 leaving baseband alone (30500 EU) Was stuck on dell logo for 15mins after animation had happened. pulled battery and restarted and it came good. Did have a random reboot 15 mins ago (which I haven't had on 1.5.1) Am hoping its a one off!
Guest auswims Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 setcpu keep fc's on changing the clock speed...anybody faced this??? Same here
Guest Crinos512 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Very nice DJSteve! I have only found 2 minor niggles so far and those aren't errors really, just old versions. Latest version of Streak Radio, found here: http://android.modaco.com/content-page/318...tation/page/80/ Latest version of SetCPU, 2.1.0, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419 Awesome possum!
Guest superutp Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 reinstalling setcpu solves the issue...
Guest aLpHa K7 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) All this talk of basebands has me really confused - If I'm coming from 1.5.1 all I have to do is flash to 1.5.2 via Clockwork, correct? Baseband reads: GAUSB1A130900-US EDIT: Yes it was just a straight flash. I must say... 1.5.2 is EXTREMELY smooth when swiping between screens!!! Manby thanks Steve! Edited January 2, 2011 by aLpHa K7
Guest Edrill Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Just flashed 1.5.2! Must say, this is the fastest ever StreakDroid ROM so far!! Awesome work, Steve!!
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 those of you who get stuck at boot, first try pulling batt and restarting second try flashing 1.5.1 > factory reset from the first recovery screen > wait for bootup then flash 1.5.2 directly - not sure whats screwed up the boot yet
Guest superutp Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Just flashed 1.5.2! Must say, this is the fastest ever StreakDroid ROM so far!! Awesome work, Steve!! definitely...it literally flies!!
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 anyone fancy comparing the network speeds (wifi and 3g/2g) between 1.5.2 and 1.5.1 for me, interested to see if my edits have done anything useful
Guest untrueparadox Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 anyone fancy comparing the network speeds (wifi and 3g/2g) between 1.5.2 and 1.5.1 for me, interested to see if my edits have done anything useful with speedtest i can get to 10mbps instead of 3-5mbps on wifi now. guess your tweaks did something. as a side note, those lime green icons on white dont show up too well. maybe you should revert to that black theme you had a while back.
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 working on something a little more unique for the statusbar but its not ready yet :0
Guest Edrill Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Yeah, the white status bar with the green icons isn't exactly all that pleasing to look at!! A black status bar with darker green icons would be far better!
Guest mmp669 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 those of you who get stuck at boot, first try pulling batt and restarting second try flashing 1.5.1 > factory reset from the first recovery screen > wait for bootup then flash 1.5.2 directly - not sure whats screwed up the boot yet This did the trick for me. 1.52 feels a lot faster in screen transition. Many thanks for the great work!
Guest jayjayn1 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Great work steve. 1267200MHz Re-enabled in setcpu. B) :o
