Guest buneech Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Could copying appropriate files from this dump, to any other solve the wifi problem, or is it in the kernel?
Guest Migun Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) Sebastian (or anyone who tested the Sapo A5 Rom), did you test call quality ? Because 90% (or more) of all Sapo A5 make an annoying sound in the phone of the person who you are calling. Its the same sound that a TV or a loudspeaker makes when a mobile phone is near. The sound volume is also very low, but I think the SF also has that problem. Edited December 19, 2010 by Migun
Guest Arr Too Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 It connects to my router and doent drop it when its been in sleep They've set the default to not sleep the wifi when the screen goes off. If you turn it back to the normal default of going off with the screen then that may help with battery life, although this ROM's setup gives you a few moments of no wifi while it reconnects it.
Guest coiso e tal Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) Hi, Is this rom having any kind of support of rom devs? Or will it have? 'Cause if not, I'll have to think twice before buying this phone. :) Right now this phone has a major malfunction: Because 90% (or more) of all Sapo A5 make an annoying sound in the phone of the person who you are calling. ;) Regards. I did not test the call quality, but that sort of thing sounds more like a hardware fault that a software issue... I'm not say its not cant be software, but its unlikey.....

Thanks for replying :) hm, a lot of people are also wondering if it is SoftW or HardW... this sucks -.-'' If someone installed a san francisco rom in the sapo A5 it may tell either it is softw or hardw, right?

I was going to sugest that, try sticking my de-oranged r7, or the finish rom on it, they should support everything... Or even better yet, try the B08 version of the Orange Stock ROM

Ye, just to check it out. I would do it but I haven't bought the phone yet, because of all this noise thing. :) If someone does it please report here, ty. Edited December 20, 2010 by coiso e tal

I believe the camera stuff on the B08 ROM will support the newer camera... but that would be a good thing to test out :)
Guest ag0n Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Since the camera is a 5MP maybe that won't be supported? But for finding out where the fault is it is enough. I have the phone since last friday. As they said, the people i talk with whine about the noise. The speaker (hand-free or not) is also too low :|| I haven't tried another rom or root because TMN (brand) haven't said anything about this problem.. i might have to trade it :) Is there any pro that could test the rom and check if it can be fixed? thanks !
Guest Sebastian404 Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Is there any pro that could test the rom and check if it can be fixed? I put the Sapo Stock ROM on my device, and to my untrained ear... Call Quality is worse on the Sapo ROM, there seems to be a background hiss that is just not there with other ROMS.... OOOOOOOOOOhh But your only going to find out for sure if someone with a Sapo A5 installs another Stock ROM....

OOOOOOOOOOhh But your only going to find out for sure if someone with a Sapo A5 installs another Stock ROM.... Thanks for fast answer. Well i am new in the android world. I have no idea how to modify a rom or even how to change my A5 rom. I was hoping someone would test it on their A5 first... specially because i don't know if i need to swap with some other A5. 90% seems to have this problem...

Because it seems this noise is heard by the person who picks up the call. Edited December 20, 2010 by coiso e tal

I dont have any friends, so I just called an automated number... there was more hiss using the SAPO rom than using the stock OUK one..

Guest Sebastian404 Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Is this noise caused by software? SAPO_P733NV1.0.0B03 - *NOTICABLE* hiss OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08 - no *NOTICABLE* hiss We need someone else to repeat the experiment, and and preferably someone else to try a stock ROM on a Sapo A5 device....
Guest fufax Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) I'm just starting the tests on Sapo A5. A5 stock rom - Noise on 2G calls, no noise on 3G calls. Orange 08 Stock ROM - Noise on 2g calls aswell. Camera working. --- Any Froyo ROM that i found on modaco forum - Camera not working, and after the phone enters in sleep mode/turns off screen, its not recoverable. touch function dies and only way to have it working is to remove the battery and replace it. Any idea/solution for that? would be greatly apreciated :) Edited December 23, 2010 by fufax

Guest coiso e tal Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Could it be a kernel issue?
