:) ... Never before has a GIF animation made me so happy haha. Any chance of zipping and sharing the seperate frames as PNG files? Im new to this so I dont know how they generally work but on Pauls MoDaCo Froyo ROM I think the boot animation is in a bootanimation.zip file containing individual frame files.

Brilliant. Do all ROMS use the same bootanimation system as Pauls or do they differ from device to device do you know?

Oh is the Part0 section animated? All the frames look like the full-glow version. Is there a way to set them to cycle through like the animation you posted? Sorry Im asking for loads >.< If theres anything I can do please say haha.

I'm not sure what can be done in 24 frames, but i have some ideas... I'l have a shot at it just as soon as i've got this massive Uni C# project out the way! :@

How did you apply it? Did you just flash that ZIP with Clockwork because that wont work, that file was just for reference. If not, Im not sure why it's doing that, I'll have a look.

Pushed with ADB to /system/media, as bootanimation.zip, and still nothing, displays black screen :S

Maybe the bootanimation does not support 32bit PNG? The ones I had were all 8bit!

I have a feeling thats the cause of the problems, meaning someone (I pray to god not me) has to go and convert them all to a lower bitrate >.<

Tried, only first image can be converted (batch converter).

Rem1x, would you be so kind to export the images as 8bit PNG ones? I already made a nice loopy boot anim (what not just flashes the Blade title, but makes it pulse too), I just need the proper encoded images :S

OOH! Cannot wait to see this, pulsing is cool. It would be possible to have it fade in and then loop a pulse wouldnt it? Using the desc.txt file, make it play the fade in once, and then play a pulse in and out again on loop a few times? I tried converting them too but it didnt work :) I think 24bit images are supported though, a lot of bootanimations out there are 24bit.

I'm pretty sure that the bootanimation.zip must not use compression -- i.e. "store" the PNGs.

Thats how it was I thought O.o Let me try another version then.

Try this version :) If this doesnt work, we can assume that it needs lower-bit PNGs I think.

That works.

Aaaaha good. And you said you have too many things going on at once, so dont worry about this. Its an amazing, like, SERIOUSLY epic logo, which is now an epic bootscreen. Chill a bit and focus on your other stuff :)

EDIT:

I know, it has some kind of "lag", a second as if it stops, it is direct, I plan to rise the FPS later :)

Any other lag is because the system is loading (thus it will lag in any way, except if I use a static image)

Cheers! Classy bootscreen, sorted my home page out... phone looks so much better than the day it left the Orange shop... just need to cover up the Orange logo on the back and San Francisco on the front
