Backup current ROM for flashing

Hi all, I have found a lot of Cooked ROM in Modaco and thinking wanna flash it...

But before i flash, can i backup my current ROM for flash back?

I search a lot of thread in Modaco, and found something call "Dump", is that the tool to do it?

Is there other easier way to back up current ROM for flashing back next time?

Just want to ask for some suggestion, a lot of customized ROM out there, so what do you think is the most smoothest, bug free ROM?
