You have to use the FULL manual method... Sounds like you're trying the LITE version.

I take it you went into the usb folder from pauls rom and unzipped the drivers??

That seems to be a common issue - people forgetting that they arent unzipped by default, and then the driver updater in windows doesnt see any changes.

right ive gone onto an xp computer and followed some instructions by welshblob ( which should definetly be a sticky) from a different thread.

so now got these showing in device manager :

- Android Phone : Android Composite ADB Device

- Disk Drives : Nvidia Tegra 2 USB Device

- Universal Serial Bus Controllers : USB Composite Device

- Universal Serial Bus Controllers : USB Mass Storage Device

unfortunately when i put it into recovery mode still doesnt load. Any ideas?

thanks for the help this is stressing me out haha.

Paul's drivers are just to install his ROM, I think if I've understood correctly, you're still trying to install the official firmware?

To run the official Vega update, you need to download the "USB System Driver" from the myadventvega site, unzip it somewhere handy.

Turn off phone

Plug in power and USB

Hold down "back" for 2s

Still holding "back", now also press and hold "power" for 2s

Now release "power", still holding "back" for a further 2s

Your PC should now be searching for drivers, point it to the unzipped Vega drivers

Run the official Vega firmware update you downloaded

Now proceed with the instructions for flashing Paul's update (you'll also want to follow the ClockworkMod sticky).

Hope this helps,

Chris.

If you are trying to do pauls update you don't put it into recovery mode - just switch on and enable usb debugging and then do the update via the command prompt

This will cause driver problems when you come to flashing the mod. Download the drivers from this site and install those. They will configure the system well enough to allow you to do both full flashing and the Modaco update without having to mess about trying to reinstall drivers.
