Guest rulerofkaos
Hey, Google Maps 5 is out: http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/16/google-...view-and-offli/ Looks really cool. Is it working for the Pulse, has anyone tested it, yet? Edited December 16, 2010 by rulerofkaos

Guest Sh4d0w940
I've got the update from the market and it seems to work. We can't use the cool MT functions ofcourse so it's not very special imho Sh4d0w940
Guest flip360
it is special, because we get an update that is vector based which should result in GMaps being much faster

Guest Alcarne
Looks exactly the same to me. No compass mode, no 3D. Does seem a bit quicker. Edited December 16, 2010 by Alcarne
Guest
And again with map tiles. The vectorbased graphics are only useable on the newest phones. In fact the desire doesnt get the vector based maps at all (and it had much more Power than the Pulse). Only a few new devices like desire hd get the Vector based maps Edited December 17, 2010 by Guest

But after watching videos on youtube, I'm sure to say that we don't have the vector map options... I'm kinda dissapointed... Too bad

Too bad Cant remember the name but a XDA member (Brut? maybe) made a custom version of maps and even months ago it used googles then experimental vector graphics so unless google is limiting it to newer phones specifically i dont know. But vector maps do work on plus.
