Edit it back (your edit is wrong too BTW...). The following works once you have the file:

adb remount

adb push android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.distinct.xml /etc/permissions/

adb reboot

Awesome work! I just took a quick video of this working to show those that aren't sure what we're talking about. Will post the link when it's uploaded.

I'm running Flibblesans G2 R3a ROM (Froyo 2.2) on my OLED San Francisco and now that I have updated the /etc/permissions/android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.xml as above I can use two fingers to rotate a 3D view of the centre of Cardiff.
