Guest marcusbywind Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 I have a omnia i8000 and have done several updates roms until you find one who really liked about 4 days after installing the rom that I liked the phone no longer recognized by computer the message "USB device not recognized" I tried to change settings: disable advanced mode I tried to read memory and change nothing I tried on several computers cable and therefore should not be charging the battery does have a solution?
Guest Comage Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 It sounds like your USB entries in windows is corrupted. Try running this app USBDeview: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html And then from the list of installed devices, clear out the multiple entries that match your omnia i8000. Then try to plug in your phone again and see if it recognizes it again correctly.

Guest pacaq Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 i have the same problem of you with diferent rom. and my phone don't charge in mode on, only in mode off. I used to have this problem before, can charge when off, not on, however, what i did was to let it fully discharge (playing with the phone by turning on camera, gps etc2) then with the phone off, plug in the charger until it fully recharge (wait until 6-8 hours), then the phone can be recognize in the computers, and you should flash it with all the parts (eboot, phone and rom), therefore have your octans ready with the stuffs before you plug in your phone after fully charge it

Guest abdelrahim Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 This is really the worst scenario that somebody can expect..I had a similar problem about 4 years back after flashing my xda Stealth with a custom ROM and was solved by flashing a different ROM using SD card...Unfortunately so far, we cant flash Omnia I8000 Using the micro sd card. You said that the problem happened after 4 days, so was it working well immediately after flashing?

Guest CalvinH Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Hi! I guess it's a stupid suggestion, but since you don't say it in the post... Have you tried hard-resetting the O2? Also, I've done the flashing two ways. First one starting with the O2 syncronyzed with Activesync, and the other one starting with the O2 off. Since your computer doesn't recognizes the O2, have you tried the second way? If you have already tried everything don't get mad at me for these suggestions :( . I am only trying to help with whatever crosses my mind ;) Regards.
