hey, giffgaff gonna make a £5 internet goodybag ever? cause I only top up £5 every 3-4weeks with T-Mobile, they don't seem to stop how much I use, downloaded rom's and all sorts, atleast 700mb in 3weeks, with giffgaff will be gigs..

btw upon signing up to giffgaff, £10 for activation is minimum?

This month they do :-) as internet will still be free for all GiffGaffers. I wouldn't be suprised if a £5 goody bag with internet turned up some time though. But they will probably want to see what the impact of stopping the free internet is...

£10 is minimum activation top-up, unless you order an unaffiliated sim off the website, but then it won't include £5 free additional credit like you get if you order one through my link below... ;-)

well i decide to stick with orange 4 the time being. I top up a tenner a month and buy 100 minutes plus 250MB gives me 150MB less than O2 deal, but a fiver cheaper.

In case my fone f**** up, and I have to take it back under warranty

You can probably still get he old style O2 payg deal that I am still on - it is not what they push on their site though. I have a bolt-on for £7.50 each month for just the data. I just top up £10 about 2 out of every 3 months and get some free texts/calls in the months I top up. I don't use many calls/texts though.

is there an actual better deal than the £10 giffgaff goodybag then or not?

I don't make many voice calls, so I use Three. They do a monthly Internet add on for £5 and this suits me fine.

Was on Three who did:

90 minutes of calls

'Unlimited' (3,500) texts

'Unlimited' (2GB) of data

all for £15 cause I've been with them for years.

It came to renew my contract this month and I decided I'd be better off going for the £10 deal with GiffGaff and being able to quit or take up a new contract at any time than be tied in to three for another 18 months at a steeper tariff.

Three are really good when it comes to haggleing.

Ive got:

- 300 Minutes

- Unlimited Texts (5000)

- Unilimited 3-3 Mins (5000)

- 25 Video Minutes (lol?)

- 50 Picture Messages

- 512mb internet

All for a shocking fiver a month of a 24 month contract. They even threw in a free Sony ericsson W995.

This is my fourth year with them and the deals just keep getting better!

I'm assuming the following is a decent deal, although it'd be a lot better at £10 a month. At any rate, I'm not sure anybody else is offering truly "unlimited" internet access on PAYG in the UK at the moment, apart from giffgaff and that ends soon anyhow:

3UK offers unlimited data service to pay-as-you-go customers

Mobile phone service 3UK is to launch a £15 per month all-you-can-eat data service for pay as you go customers, just as other mobile operators are capping their data plans, citing network congestion.

Three will also runn a competition over the coming month, with prizes including a 30-day first class rail travel pass to Europe for two, a smartphone plus 12 months' free data for a year, lots of free calls and texts each month. The competition will run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 March to 4 April.

All-In-One 15 costs £15 and gives 30-days access to all-you-can-eat data along with 300 any-network minutes and 3,000 texts. There are also offers for heavier users.

The move comes two months after 3UK launched a similar all-you-can-eat data offer for contract customers with The-One-Plan. But research shows that customers are leery of incurring high bills after exceeding their allowances.

Sales and marketing director at 3UK, Marc Allera, said, "We want people to feel comfortable doing this without worrying about the cost. That's why the new offers include all-you-can-eat data along with a huge allowance of minutes and texts."

GiffGaff is not ending unlimited data soon. It is ending FREE data from 31st March. From 1st April a £10 per month Goody Bag will still get you unlimited data.

I've been with GiffGaff since May last year. I've topped up just £20 in total and with Payback have a current credit balance of ~£34. I've got a further £74 in Payback still to come. My net annual cost on GiffGaff is substantially less than £0 (£zero) per month on average. With GiffGaff I'm making money (so far).

I don't use much data and when the FREE data ends I shall pay for data on a genuine PAYG basis just like minutes and texts, using credit that does not expire. I won't need to pay £10 per month for a Goodybag to suit my needs. I doubt I shall be paying more than £3 per month to meet my requirements for voice, text and data, with any further Payback reducing that figure over the year.

EDIT : I just received my February statement from GiffGaff. If I had been paying for data during February based on their PAYG data plan it would have cost me 29p. I'll be sticking with that from 1st April rather than buying a Goodybag. :(

Ah, okay. I thought I had read that the £10 goody bag gave you a certain amount of data a day after which charges were applied. But if they're still going to be offering unlimited data for £10 a month, I'll be signing myself up for that. In fact, I've just ordered a sim. :(

Here's the announcement/discussion regarding the PAYG data charging once the FREE data offer ends - http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Blog/Data...ate/ba-p/429379.

Goodbags will carry on as normal, still providing unlimited data for £10 Goodybags and above. Here are the Goodbag tariiffs and inclusions - http://giffgaff.com/index/offer.

Thanks for this.

One other quick question: Can I purchase a goodybag using one of their top-up vouchers, or can I only do it by debit/credit card? I had a look through their site but couldn't find a definitive answer to this. Cheers.
