Hey all! ive been browsing the forums here for a few days and i finally went out and bought my first android phone. I have been using the Iphone 3gs for close to 2 years and just 2 days ago bought the Dell Streak. It came with 1.6 on it, and supposedly 2.2 should be released over the air soon? Im not up to par on droid lingo and firmware versions and what not, but does anyone know when i should be expecting the update? Im in the USA using AT&T by the way. Thanks all!

The OTA update should come out in January. Although I'm not holding my breath.

Have you tried to go to settings, about phone, system updates?

ok thanks guys. is there going to be a significant difference in features and apps/widgets etc with the 2.2 on it?

Major difference... too many to list.

ie.

Native Tethering

Live Wallpapers

More Marketplace apps

and not to mention its ALOT smoother.

Right now you have 2 options:

-Dell's Official Froyo for O2 (yes you can make it work on AT&T), or

-Custom Froyo made by some guy Stephen Hyde, aka DJ_Steve, Mr. Hyde, :)
