Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Great so far, just a few random reboots. Let me know if you're in Hsinchu sometime, or if I can buy you a beer next time I'm in Taipei. Hi sunshine333, I think the random reboot issue is caused by CM migrating their great UI experience to gingerbread, but maybe some small bugs in it. B) I think CM is working on it, and the problems will be solved in few days. Yeah, I will  , But I live in TaoYuan now. :o Thanks.
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 just installed the 0.2 version, (tnx Roggin!!!!) B) I will ask thepasto to help me merge his work into this ROM. Thanks.
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I think it's possible. Try to reflash my update.zip, i didn't see changes in v0.2 boot.img so it should work fine. If you find problems let me know, i update the package. Hi thepasto, I am uploading my kernel source, Could you help me to merge your great work to this ROM? Thanks. B)
Guest Alvan Yap Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi thepasto, I am uploading my kernel source, Could you help me to merge your great work to this ROM? Thanks. B) hi roggin, any clue on why only 300mb ram detected in system?is it due to optimize for A1?
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Just installed, there are some problems: Proximity sensor doesn't work Everytime I try to open the browser the mobile reboot Some application crash (fro example quadrant) I just reflashed the Froyo roggins. Guest thepasto Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi thepasto, I am uploading my kernel source, Could you help me to merge your great work to this ROM? Thanks. B) Thank you very much, however today I managed to compile the kernel to fully use your modules. save me with your sources a little bit of trial! (I do not know what I wrote, I hope you understand me). Now I start to rebuild the package with the fix for app2sd, I do not think it takes a long time. yours is a very good job not mine:) but thanks too ..
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 ive test this rom for awhile (just a while then i revert back to miui): 1. the launcher is abit lag (seems like common issue with all the rom which default using ADW launcher with 5 row apps drawer) 2. RAM is only detect 300mb instead of 512mb 3. camera interface is generic but slightly diffrent with the one in stock rom (with more setting) but still metal camera is the best currently 4. the animation effect is awesome  5. mutiltouch revertion seems like not solve yet (hardware problem?) thx roggin for the effort, overall i think this rom is more suit to Liquid non E. P/S: roggin r u chinese? Hi Alvan Yap, Thanks for your testing. 1. Yes, it seems to be. 2. We have some problems in LiquidE device. :o 3. Ok, I will try to merge Metal's camera to the ROM. 4. Yeah, it's so cool. 5. Yes, I have remove phh's TS fix :D ps. Yes, I am Chinese. B) Thanks.
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 We are waiting :o Where are you, Roggin ? :D Love your job B) Hi Carljo, Yes, I am here. But I am so busy these two days. I will focus on power consumption and bluetooth issue in future work. Thanks.
Guest Dario93 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi Carljo, Yes, I am here. But I am so busy these two days. I will focus on power consumption and bluetooth issue in future work. B) Thanks. Hey roggin, someone has problems with bluetooth? Yesterday I sent without problems a photo via bluetooth
Guest Alvan Yap Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi Alvan Yap, Thanks for your testing. 1. Yes, it seems to be. 2. We have some problems in LiquidE device. :D 3. Ok, I will try to merge Metal's camera to the ROM. 4. Yeah, it's so cool. 5. Yes, I have remove phh's TS fix :D ps. Yes, I am Chinese. B) Thanks. so for the launcher perhaps u can default the setting to 4x4 app drawer (horizon instead of scroll updown) instead of 5x5 to get better performance? PS:just founded that MIUI also suffer for the RAM issue...since it was a kernel issue so what i can do is wait for a better kernel? :o
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 hi roggin, any clue on why only 300mb ram detected in system?is it due to optimize for A1? Hi Alvan Yap, No, I haven't studied this part in kernel. , Do you know where can I download the kernel source for LiquidE? Thanks.
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hey roggin, someone has problems with bluetooth? Yesterday I sent without problems a photo via bluetooth  Hi Dario93, Yes, There seems some problems in Bluetooth SCO(headset) connection. B) Thanks.
Guest Dario93 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Hi Alvan Yap, No, I haven't studied this part in kernel. , Do you know where can I download the kernel source for LiquidE? Thanks. Do you mean eclair ones? B) Edited January 5, 2011 by Dario93
Guest roggin Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Do you mean eclair ones? B) Hi Dario93, Yes, , Is liquid and liquidE use the same kernel. I think there are some differences in PMEM setting. Thanks.
Guest thepasto Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi Alvan Yap, No, I haven't studied this part in kernel. , Do you know where can I download the kernel source for LiquidE? Thanks. Roggin, this is the problem, we don't have real source kernel for liquid E. The only way to have 512mb ram is build kernel with 2g memory split (instead 3g/1g) but Cyano Rom doesn't supports 2g memory split. If someone can find a solution will be very appreciated.
Guest Dario93 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi Dario93, Yes, , Is liquid and liquidE use the same kernel. I think there are some differences in PMEM setting. B) Thanks. These are the eclair sources from Acer: DOWNLOAD
Guest Carljo Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Will you fix the battery drain bug and compile a new ROM version now? I'm just waiting for this fix
Guest enrix835 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 First of all, hi all! This is my first post here  I've tried the gingerbread ROM by roggin. Well, it's very smooth, and for me it's almost perfect! Thank you, roggin, and thanks to all the people who works with him B) Anyway, I'd like to try to help you, roggin. If you want, of course  I'll send you my email via PM. Hi!
Guest Rippan Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Is there anyway to turn haptic feedback off?
Guest koudelka Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Hi Alvan Yap, No, I haven't studied this part in kernel. B) , Do you know where can I download the kernel source for LiquidE? Thanks. This is due to the fact acer user different prelinking and thus different memory mapping in the kernel. We need to find highmem patch for 2.6.29 kernel to enable full ram on liquid E with the prelinking we use now. (people who remember the nexus one release know it too did not show all 512 ram in the beginning until Google added highmem patch) edit: woops thepasto had already answered this  Edited January 6, 2011 by koudelka
Guest koudelka Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I am not sure if this is all that is needed, but it could be worth a try: http://www.linuxhq.com/kernel/v2.6/29-git1...rm/mm/highmem.c and then add to mm make file, obj-$(CONFIG_HIGHMEM) += highmem.o (it is possible we need fixes all over the kernel, I am not sure. I have read somewhere highmem cause bugs in some drivers)
Guest Morris Lee Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I think sometimes I ran out of memory and I get random reboot, mostly in browsers. I am using liquid e, any a1 user get this type of problem?? The camera seems unable to connect all the time now

This will be my daily rom if the reboots are fixed. I did a quick review of the debug log and it just seems to die without any warning. This happens regardless of whether I o/c or not
