Leave this topic. Now. Really.

I understand you want to learn, but that's why MoDaCo has QnA topics, question topics, etc.

You have to understand that we are working hard to do stuff, and your "jokes", not reading, other scrap-posts just disturbs the clean communication (this goes for everyone who had no meaningful comment what helped development!).

I wish it was the second one, at least in the knowledge of I had a good night yesterday, but I'm just tired :S

/* BTW I'm best at modding when I'm drunk, don't ask me how, but I can figure out everything. If you see that my post is weird, at night in GMT+2, and has CRAZY ideas, DO it, and believe me it WILL work :( */

I'm asking a relative question, I have been following this thread from the start if I knew the answer, why would i ask the question? I thought you always you had to wipe boot, system, date and cache. And Trust Me I Read with every detail.

here we go....

STILL WORK IN PROGRESS

r0.1_update_de-softened_lite_blade_signed.zip

NOTE: Still Uploading

DISCLAIMER : I am not responsive for any consequences of installing this update, any house-fires, stray cats, legal action resulting from your use of it is ENTIRELY your own look out.

Change log:

- updated/added all Google apps

- added test applications (Secret Dialer codes SHOULD work now)

- reverted launcher to stock wallpaper & layout

- added MMS application

- removed built in bookmarks from Browser

Known issues:

- Your device needs to be unlocked BEFORE installing

- Wont work with ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.3 - Upgrade for gods sake!

- Still using the BETA kernel

- no LEDs (see above)

- unregistered ro.build.fingerprint means you cant download SOME apps from the market place

Its supposed to be like that:

- Things don't look the same

- Anything else

House fires, stray cats? so u do have a sense of humour :(

Really can't find any big problems aside from the slower launcher at the moment.

This is a stupid question, but have your tried giving it a few minutes to idle, then rebooting....

The device seems to be still busy doing background stuff after first boot, to me it seemed to get a bit better once it had ... done what ever it was doing...

Its done.. I had a last minute change of mind on the file name... I cant call it _lite_ since its now bigger than the original....

r0.1_update_de-softened_blade_signed.zip

However it is the lite version of the final release.... since I've removed (most) of the ZTE stuff and live wallpapers......

WORK IN PROGRESS

Yea, he was just asking a question that hadn't been addressed. About upgrading from r0 to the new'n. That's fair, he wasn't the one trolling. That's the bloody annoying youngbrov.

Also, beautiful work Seb. The speed these are being rolled out is really brilliant. :(

Although that question was answered many times, in other topics, in PINNED topics!

But I will write it down again:

If you installed a ROM what has no major changes from the previous one (same base, no VITAL removed apps, etc) then no wiping needed. I guess this one should be a golden law...

I guess so, but certain parts are changing rapidly. It doesn't hurt checking, and at last its on topic. Unlike the aforementioned Youngbrov.

^And it doesnt hurt to wipe when installing new roms.

When you test stuff, you gotta get used to having backups and wiping is to taken for granted.

I'm just looking into what Fonix manged to do with the kernel to get the LEDs working, but other than that, I think I'm about done,... unless anyone finds anything major in r0.1....

We really need to look into the Kernel tho, as that's quite a puzzle... tho I guess waiting for the source might also help that...

^Sweet, waiting for a proper release before i move from FLB.

com.android.fcctest.apk

com.android.qcnvtest.apk

com.android.qualcomm.apk

com.android.zte.ChiperTest.apk

test stuff... you get at it via the secret dialer codes..

com.cooliris.media.apk

Photo Gallery.... cooliris gave thier code to Google, so its officaly part of the android OS now..

com.google.android.gm.apk

Gmail.....

Most of the rest are fairly obvious.. com.google.android.apps.books.apk is google Books... etc etc etc

do a google search for them... you'll more than likely end up here

what device do you have, it won't support 5MP cameras due to the kernel...

The device seems to be still busy doing background stuff after first boot, to me it seemed to get a bit better once it had ... done what ever it was doing...

I always start all application for the first time one by one, and then shutdown. You got me there, it was first impression.

I verified now, that after first boot, something eats up 85-95% of the cpu cycles, at least accord to the factory task manager.

This seems to normalize after a reboot, in idle it goes down to 10-15% usage (however still mistery to me what takes up that much cycles...)

The launcher still seems slow after reboot, but not as much as after first boot. I don't know what launcher version Paul's rom had in the Froyo A4, but that was much smoother even with the 3D drawer effect which is not present in this ROM...

But i wouldn't make a problem about it, i will replace mine with the launcher from the A4 froyo and be happy, just thought i report it.

Sorry, i already found most of 'em, and yes that CyanogenMod thread is very helpful.

Strange, Camcorder works, but Camera FCs - same here, process.com.android.camera stopped unexpectedly...

#2010-11-11 jia rename "ro.camera.capture.IsInternalStorage" with "ro.camera.capture.intrstorage"

ro.camera.capture.intrstorage=true

Not noticed this before - maybe this could be the culprit?

I suspect thats because the beta version of the boot.img is not setting stuff up correctly...

V/camera ( 648): the keydown is pressed first time
D/ImageManager( 648): /data/media/DCIMno exit!
D/ImageManager( 648): create/data/media/DCIM
E/ ( 648): statfs /data/media/DCIM failed, errno: 2
W/dalvikvm( 648): threadid=1: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x2
aacc8a0)[/code]

EDIT:

looks like it, making a media directory keeps it happy.... strange they want you to have your pictures on the internal storage tho
