Is my hdmi connection broken?

I just got the vega today, loaded on latest software and pauls addon and i just tried to connect the vega to the tv with hdmi. The tv says it did not see the vega. Am i meant to set something or does my port just not work? I tried to play a video and use iplayer, neither seemed to have any setting for htmi out.

Hi, just tested it on my 1.03 unit running 1.06.5 with R5 + PP and the HDMI out works as soon as you plug it in. I couldn't get it to work through my HDMI switch though - had to plug it in direct to the TV.

Looks like it outputs at 1080p aswell, in case that's your problem.

Does it work like a pc where it just displays the same as you screen or do you have to have media running?

Yes it just clones the display on the Vega, so you see both at the same time. No need to have anything running or any app open. My Vega is a completely fresh R5 install cos I bricked it last night fiddling! The picture quality is not the best but I've only tested it on 720p TVs.

I think if the HDMI was completely dead your TV wouldn't respond to it at all. For some strange reason my Vega dosnt display on my TV either I get a slight flickering and some weird error msg. I don't have another TV with HDMI to test it on, Have you tested it on another TV ?

Yeah i tested on two and normally the tv highlights the hdmi option when its connected but for thee vega it does not light up
