Hi Seb, to ease up your work, here are all fixes in one place:

1. Problem: signal bars inaccurate. Fix: replace services.jar in /system/framework/services.jar with this one.. Unrar the file and replace it with RootExplorer or ADB. Or flash one of Frankish's themes from here.

2. Problem: Wi-Fi acting crazy. Fix: apply this only if you have problems.

3. Problem: facebook sync not working. Fix: apply this only if you want to use facebook contact sync.

4. Problem: not playing some mp3/aac files or no sound in some games (NFS Shift). Fix: delete two lib files from /system/lib which are libOmxAacDec.so and libOmxMp3Dec.so only if you have these problems.

5. Problem: the roaming symbol is shown in the taskbar but you are not roaming. Fix: You need your stock ROM and zip program. Replace libril-qc-1.so and libcm.so (in /system/lib) with the versions from your stock ROM and reinstall. Or if you are familiar with adb you can push the files and reboot.

6. Problem: two finger rotation not working on google maps. Fix: add the following line to /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.xml

<feature name="android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.distinct" />
Apply only if using this feature and care about it. 7. Problem: some games (gameloft as an example) give an error at start (Video can not be played) and the game crashes. Also fast forwarding in movies lasts more then it should (3-5 seconds). Fix: Enable the broken stagefright by editing build.prop in /system/
media.stagefright.enable-player=true

media.stagefright.enable-meta=true

media.stagefright.enable-scan=true

media.stagefright.enable-http=false

8. Problem: network operator showing something else or nothing. Fix: follow this guide. Apply only if it matters.

That's it folks, perfect Wednesday ROM ;) Sebastian, I think we all agree that you could make this a final version r4 as I have tested all of the fixes and they work flawless. Thanks again for everything. Credits go to kallt_kaffe, Flibblesan, Sebastian404 and all the wonderful peeps on this forum who brought solutions.

Can i ask what as been changed in the services.jar to fix the signal bars? i have a custom service.jar so i dont want to change it.

Don't know, I just stole it from kallt_kaffe ;) It's the same as in the Japanese Jellyfhish and it works brilliant.

Maybe he concentrates too much on the Chinese Perfect ROM? Untill Wednesday it must be made perfect :) Not much time left.

Seriously now, i keep wondering myself too ;) It's a petty that the development of this ROM gets interrupted by other activities, like that broken chinese ROM which is older than the japanese one (on which this ROM is based) and does not bring anything new to the game.

I have a job and 'real life' commitments to be getting on with too you know....

and I've been working on THIS and THIS the last couple of days....

I'm hoping to bring the Chinese and Japanese roms upto sync, with most of the fixes mentioned above...

May as well suspend your efforts, we're getting the perfect "Firmware" tomorrow anyway!

Seriously though, take your time, this is a damn nice rom for a vanity project that shouldn't be considered for everyday use!

Accept my apologizes please, I did not mean to sound rude, it was just a spontaneous thought. I am following closely the recovery manager and the RA topics too because they are very useful for the Blade community, there's no doubt about it. I keep wondering how you are able to work on so many projects. Waiting anxiously for the perfect japanese and chinese ROMS, the word in the town is that the finnish Blades will get a 2.2 perfect ROM in about two weeks, how about that ;) Decisions will be hard to make with 3 perfect ROMS :)

In the meanwhile, I have tried this MOD, it worked great for me, I highly recommend it (as always nandroid first, no responsability bla bla). The most useful MOD there is right now for the Blade.

@Sebastian404, please help

How is it possible to make ROMs work with the LEAD-Display (not TRULY) in the new Swiss ZTE-Blade?

When the sms text messages gets older than 24 hrs, the time stamp against each message is replaced by the date stamp. Is there a way to show the time and day stamp on sms text messages older than 24hrs?

Hi peeps, just stole two more fixes from KK ;) First one, download from here.

Here's a services.jar to be put in /system/framework. Will take a long time on first boot as it has to rebuild the dalvik-cache but once it is done the charging LED should the same as in 2.1 (red for low, orange for medium and green for full). Have not been able to test it at all levels yet.

Second one, download from here.

This framework-res.apk goes down as low as the Chinese 2.2 ROM but still has an additional step between the lowest setting the new one above so it's not exactly like the Chinese one but it should go as dark just the transition should be a tiny bit smoother.

Third, download from here.

And here's one with exactly the same levels as the Chinese ROM.

All the service.jars will just overwrite each over so thay would need to be merged also the service.jar from kk is not from the same base as sebs so we should only use sebs i think not sure though. So we need to take the service.jar from sebs r0.3 and mod it to fix the signal and the back light led colors etc. Any volunteers?

EDIT 1

Sorry i am wrong thay are both based on the same rom so we need to start with a unmodified service.jar from the Softbank 003Z V1.0.0B15 ROM and manually fix the signal and the led colors etc that way we know its clean and it will work in any rom based on Softbank 003Z V1.0.0B15 ROM.

Fixed it by filling the space, I now have giffgaff Mobile UK (O2) it beats what was there is start with :)

If anyone wants that you can use the file attached

As above it needs to be inserted into the '/system/lib' folder of the phone to replace the existing libril-qc-1.so file. To do this you will need a file manager app capable of root functions. Root Explorer works very well for this.

I'm about to try this on the JJ RLS8 ROM, but wondering...if I add spaces on either side of "giffgaff" in the lib file so that it has the same character length as "Telefonica O2 UK Limited" you think it will it put it top right on the screen?

No I tried that and it didn't work, which is why I changed it to the above.

I've been running this ROM for a couple of weeks now. At first I did not have data plan in my contract before, but now I do. I'm using T-Mobile but I can't seem to be able to connect to the internet through 3G.

Wifi at home works Ok, but if i turn it off and activate the data connection, I can see the H icon flashing, but nothing happens.

If I check the mobile settings, T-Mobile APN is selected.

I've tried ticking "Using 2G only" with the same results.

Am I doing something wrong?

Been running the r2 and now r3 of this ROM for many weeks now and it is superb, have had no problems ever, thank you Sebastian for all the hard work .

I have a small problem at the moment (first time I have tried) when I move Apps to SD they show up and run no problem as long as the phone is not rebooted, after a reboot the applications disappear from the app drawer and any screen shortcuts revert to the default android icon as if the application has been removed and the shortcut is orphaned. If I look in Strrings / Applications I can see the programs are on the SD card, if I move them back reboot and they reappear in the app drawer and work correctly. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much for this ROM - it appears to be the most stable one of all custom 2.2 roms.

I only had one issue with WiFi tethering, which worked kind-of, but only for very few sites like google.com. After comparing with other roms, I found the fix: the contents of /system/etc/init.athwlan.sh for this rom contains a line which needs to be removed:

#ZTE_RIL_WANGCHENG_20101016 for SBM
/system/bin/ifconfig rmnet0 mtu 1500
#ZTE_RIL_WANGCHENG_20101016
[/codebox]

After removing this line, WiFi tethering works like a charm for me.

Ah, interesting, I tried tethering to see if it would work and it didn't, so thanks for that!
