Hmm, What settings have changed to stop pinch to zoom working in the gmail app?

My wifes SF on de-orangeated 0.8 seems to have this feature and it is greatly missed!

Does anyone have any information on this, as I used to use pinch zoom all the time...?

Ok, no i think i really found the problem with the power consumption.

My phone had 100% for about 6 hours. GSM only. No problem.

When turning on Wifi, i could see the battery drop in 10 min to 83%. A little browsing on text-only websites included ;) I can see the same effect when using BT.

The phone even gets warm at the back just by having wifi and/or BT activated.

RLS7.5. Experienced the same with RLS7.

Can somebody confirm this?

A visit to the "ZTE Blade Themes and Design customisation" forum would have answered your question without posting.

There is a nice topic called "[THEMES]For JapJelly and De-Softened Froyo's *Updated to JJ RLS7*".

Please actually attempt to find the information you are seeking (Via searching maybe) before making a post. It makes the forum alot less cluttered for all of us.

Thanks to all who have worked on this ROM, Installed in seconds and works great. BUT i noticed my app list doesn't rotate. A friend running the same ROM has a rotating apps list. Any idea what could be the cause?

Dear Kalt Kaffe.

I am about to install your ROM right now. Before I do what is the situation with 'Google DNS' as I haven't been here for about a week.

You say you have removed resolv.conf in revision 7 of your ROM. Ok so, has Google DNS gone or is embedded somewhere even worse ?

What DNS is this using ?

What Google software is installed ?

Are there any hidden Google extras ?

Thanks

first thing i noticed is, that it's very complete and runs fast as hell, very nice work:)

however, I have some specific questions about the rom:

i have a certain problem with most of the new roms, or rather roms build with the new kernel.

everytime i use the mobile data connection everything is well, it works fast and reliable. i use widgets to deactivate the apn.

when the phone falls asleep for some time however, it becomes impossible to reactivate the apn using apndroid or power controls or widgetsoid, whatever...

i have to go to the mobile data menu, switch 2G/3G and then it works again. this is a problem i didn't have with my 2.1 roms.

i believe it has something to do with the kernel, but being just a user i can't back this claim up with knowledge.

somehow i get the impression that when the phone falls asleep and deactivates all kinds of power consuming stuff, it switches from WSCDMA mode to just GSM and then when trying to reactivate somehow fails to get things right...

am i completely wrong?

I have just noticed 2 fairly serious issues with the phone functionality:

(1) The ability to search for phone service providers is gone from the settings

(2) The ability to enter ones own APN values also seems to be gone.

Edit:

Using my phone in China, on China Unicom, I am fairly sure the above observations were true.

Now I am back in the UK, on 3, I can now search for service providers and add APNs.

Perhaps this is something SIM specific? Or perhaps I am just losing it...

If you flash the Rls7 again it will overwrite the framework-res.apk and sevices.jar stuff (that's were themes are). But, just in case, do a backup.

cheers Tripov, that did the job. All is well again.

I've done a bit of research and it turns out that the gmail app doesn't use pinch-to-zoom. I wonder why it used to with the stock ROM?!? Very strange

There're actually no more USB settings.

I have just noticed 2 fairly serious issues with the phone functionality:

(2) The ability to enter ones own APN values also seems to be gone.

Both options are still present on my 7.5

Btw, charging LED doesn't work properly, it stays constantly green all time.

Yeah, and it turns off when full.

I have just loaded Jellyfish RLS7 on my new San Francisco Blade using Clockwork 2.5.1.8.

I can now no longer mount the SD card on my Macbook pro (OSX 10.6.5). I can reboot the Blade in Clockwork and mount the USB via the menus on the phone, copy file to and from the SD card using the Mac but the Mac hangs when dismounting the external drive on the Mac (after dismounting in Clockwork).

It all works perfectly using XP Pro and a PC.

I'm currently running RLS7 with AHB overclocking and CPU @729.

This is the fastest and smoothest 2.2 rom. Very good job!

The only thing that i miss is the stock dialer.

HI kk..hows progress with RLS8? Will you be meshing with the new Chinese kernel at all? Any hint at whats to be included..I know, just too too nosy!!?

Thanks again, L

I've discovered that my wifi issue with slow reconnection happens when connecting to a network with SSID broadcast disabled.

Looks like this is a Froyo issue, unfortunately I couldn't find a solution for it.

To all those asking KK about RLS8: Have a look at this post.

I we could clutter this thread a bit less, such things would be much easier to find ;)

We can't use the compiled kernel in any of the Chinese or Japanese ROMs as it is compiled for a different memory area than our Blades use. All current 2.2 ROMs uses either an old beta kernel or a kernel compiled from the sources released by ZTE. I use the latter with some nice tweaks like overclocking. So basicly, no, I won't use the Chinese kernel, it's just not possible.

The only thing I've taken from the Chinese build is their Mms.apk since the Japanese SMS/MMS app is heavily modified for Softbank. I used the Mms.apk from the last chinese leak in RLS7 but I've replaced it with the one from the released Chinese ROM in RLS8. Haven't noticed any differences but newer is better right?

Other than that the Chinese ROM is built almost 1 month before the Japanese ROM so there may not be that much to use from it that we do not allready have.
