I'm using the first version, seems to go a bit darker now if I cover the ligth sensor. I'm also having the services.jar with fixed charging LED installed aswell as a new kernel where the original, non-modified, radio app works again (found a way to fix it when looking for a way to increase the volume, didn't find a way to increase volume though but that might have because I got distracted by the radio fix)

Using v2 of the framework change and it works beautifully! yet to test the LED changes but have no doubt that it will work just as fine. Stock radio fixed as well? m8, you are on fire!!

For some reason my mac won't mount the SD card anymore with RLS8 + AHB+ Saunalahti RIL. Does anyone else have similar problems? Restarted both the phone and the mac, but nothing helps…

first of all thanks for putting so much effort into this rom!

i'd like to share my experience with the battery drain issue, which - in my opinion - is the most important issue with this rom:

i've got an OSF with OLED screen and i've been using JJ3 for a while and am now on JJ8 w/o OC for a few days.

i am most certain that the main factor in battery drain has to do with WIFI. as i don't have any data plan as of yet, umts/gsm data is constantly turned off. same for bluetooth and gps. i'm using the power widget to turn on WIFI whenever i need it. with WIFI turned off and my OSF being just a cellphone, battery will last very long. i can make calls, play around with the device and text messages for several days without significant loss on battery. yet, as soon as i turn on wifi, i can literally see the battery drain in realtime (with battery ring indicator on JJ3) ... now, without the ring indicator i'm not seeing the number dropping every 2 minutes anymore, but the result remains the same. i turn on wifi, my battery drains instantly.

Could you flash JJ and then try the following in a terminal or adb:

dmesg | grep PanleID

Let me know what it says. I need to know for sure what "PanleID" (Yes it's misspelled in the code) your phone identifies itself with. My OLED OSF have PanleID 40.

hey, i have a LEAD display as well, but the adb command doesn't work :)

tells me that 'grep' is no valid command.

just running "adb shell dmesg" gives me a lot of stuff, but no panleID in there.

the fact that i'm using windows might be the problem i guess ;)

Okay, got it via Terminal Emulator:

Does anybody know how to get the facebook sync working? I ticked the option to only sync data with contacts on my phone but its not done anything. I'm on RLS8.

EDIT- Nevermind, I had the filter in Contacts set to not show Facebook contacts. Ignore my previous statement. It doesn't link current contact information though unfortunately but it works I guess.

I agree... I've also got an OSF OLED and last night it was just in sleep-mode staying at 41% for 7-8 hours. Now I've used it for 20 min just reading here on modaco and swedroid and it dropped 14% just using wifi...

As a "dumb" phone the battery seems to have a long life, as an active WIFI-client it's a lot shorter.

I don't use the OSF as a phone (got a desire as my daily phone) but I test roms and software on it.

On the pages before, I saw several posts with the advice to wipe BEFORE installing a new ROM... but in other threads I read about wiping after....

so how do I proceed...

wipe/reset - install rom - reboot or

install rom - wipe/reset - reboot?

c'mon, you just need to read the first page and pay attention to letters in red. (btw: your first guess was correct: wipe, then install)

However I also installed the UI hardware accel. Is there a possibility to deinstall it without wiping the whole device again?

The first page just tells us to wipe... no mention of whether wiping before or after installing the rom... so are you sure... wipe, install (and no wipe after install) and that's it?

One thing i have noticed and wether its to do with the keyboard or the MMS.apk im not sure but seems im no longer able to scroll through the text that im writing if it happens to be a long text message, it just seems to want to scroll through the previous messages recieved in the thread and not what im writing

I know. Haven't managed to fix that. Disassembled Java isn't the most easy thing to work with.

openvpn used to work well on rls5, but now i cant seem to get symlinks for ifconfig and route from /bin to work, log always says: could not find those files(ifconfig/route) ;)

Hi, i put JJ RLS8 yesterday and today i found out that i cant connect with 3G (with wifi no problem). I tried to put manual the apn file but still nothing.

I put in apn file for Vodafone Greece

-Vodafone

Name: Internet

APN: internet.vodafone.gr

User name: user

Password: pass

MCC: 202

MNC: 05

APN type: Default

i asked and another friend and he has different Phone provider (Cosmote) and he has no problems with the same rom.

p.s.: On my screen i can see the image for 3g(HSPDA) but i couldnt get to the internet or the market.

I could use some help please and by the way before i had Paul's R7 and i didnt have those 3g probs.

In General, i liked it better this rom cause you can have o/c, changed battery icon and etc. so it would be frustrating to go back.

Got my wife a new OSF, want to install your RLS8 on it.

So is clockwork the only way to install it or can I use TPT.

which method is best that you recommend.

i use JJ RLS8 since this morning and i don't have such problems..i used WIND GR 3g network more than once today..are u sure that u have the correct settings? try to leave username and password blank ;)

Hey, I think I found a bug.

While trying to use the app "smart alarm clock" (it's a sleep phase alarm) it notified me, that my phone does'nt fully support the android specs because it can't use the accelerometer while the screen is off. Do you think it is possible to fix that? Otherwise I don't think we can really use a sleep phase alarm.

Sounds good! This might as well solve the dialer issue (that it partially awakes and consume much network usage, which is very odd indeed especially the later part. Mine used a total of 954515 bytes since this morning!).

pretty easy to build (not tried getting it running yet) if you are just after the generic build, I' just compiled frf91 and ere27 with no issues

in case it's of use to you and you want the entire platform...

i installed rls8 on my zte..with wipe of course.

but i have one problem - because all my contact (from gmail and the same from vcf file) are without polish letters.

what to do with this ?
