Ok, shouldn't break much if as theme doesn't work you just need to flash back originals. I recommend waiting for a port though even if they do work. They may be older versions framework-res.apk and services.jar. No idea what these small files could include in the way of fixes.

Tbh, i'd feeel much happier with ported themes, too. Any leads into finding the yellow bar that appears in tabs, like, underlining the selection?

But still, testing away!

Are you working on one? Waiting for the gingerbread theme :(

Yeah i'm porting all my themes will start with Gingerbread one...although i'm not doing a heavily edited Gingerbread one like my old one. It's a true to stock gingerbread theme with the mix of oranges and green.

@victor ...what line? Take a screenshot please pointing it out. Ta.

I'm planning on wiping caches, too. I'm just doing a summary of what doesn't work.

Also, one other thing Frankish.. any way to make the signal bar green? Thanks for the good work :(

Edit, i'll get the pic when i've finished installing the theme... and also...Orange and Green...hmmm, I don't how good that'd look. If I had the skills to actually know what the heck to do, I'd try making an Orange-instead-of-green Gingerbread theme, Black and Orange would look really nice.

hummm dial codes don't work (*983*0#)

Ooh. Different dialer codes. There's still the IMEI one ("*#06#"), but there's now only a switch into Engineering Mode and a switch back out (which also prompts to Factory Reset -- you don't have to do that!):

*ZTE*OPENEM# -> *983*673636#

*ZTE*CLOSEEM# -> *983*2567336#

Not sure what this mode enables yet, but I'm currently staring at what appears to be a rather big typo, which may prevent it from doing anything... stay tuned.

The stock Gingerbread theme is like that so that's the way the initial release is going to be ;)

Also already planned the green signal bars.

Now i better stop replying to posts and start doing this!

While we're collecting all the known fixes, how about adding:

<feature name="android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.distinct" />

to /etc/permissions/android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.xml to enable the rotation feature in the new Google Maps (and probably other apps)?

Right, I got an infinite bootloop. Not good. Then I realised I'm running Seb's and not Jellyfish. (so much swapping around in one day!) But as they're on the same base, it's still valuable information.

And by stock Gingerbread theme, do you mean chunks of Orange and Green? If so, well, fair enough, I was wrong.

And, in a very quick bit of photoshoppping (I study graphics, so not being able to edit a theme, as it's xml or jars or whatever it is, is exceptionally annoying :()

This is what i kinda remeber it looking like, but when you hover on a tab, it mismatches:

Absolutely no idea, just pulled it off of google cos I couldn't install the theme. Sorry. If you want to try and find it, Google image search "Android Settings"... I think.

There may be a reason that's off. Our awful touchscreen driver doesn't like the rotary movement, so all I can get on mine is it moving in the wrong direction :/

Well, awful may be too strong a word. But flip the x and y values, and that should have dne the trick..except it hadn't. I thought the Nexus 1 had the same problem? All i'm saying is, yes, it's nice that the screen can do rotation with that fix, but also that it's not totally helpful.

well maybe I should expand on that... the way that ZTE 'fixed' the problem of screen rotation is quite shocking... android is not really setup to rotate 180/270 so it brings up all sorts of odd-ness....

Hi.

Since yesterday I've been using this ROM. Today I've updated to release 2 and applied the patch to enable rotate on the Maps and besides the know issues with the Radio, I don't have nothing to point.

My question now is how to change the boot screen. I can change the boot animation using adb and I've tried also to change the boot screen using adb by pulling the file logo.bmp from the phone, changing it and pushing it again to the phone, but when rebooting the phone, the boot screen is allways the one from Jellyfish and not the one I've placed there! I've checked and after the push, the file is updated on the phone, but after the reboot it's reverted to the original one from Jellyfish!

Any way to change the boot screen?

Thanks,

Mike

Oh don't you just love ZTE's methods sometimes :(

Ah well, thanks Seb. I know i'm a pain in the ass. But it's all in aid of learning. Is there a hardware reason for the upside down screen that you know of?
