You need to do *ZTE*EM# (I think) first to enable 'Engineering Mode'. It's in this thread earlier.

That's *ZTE*OPENEM#.

There's also a topic with the codes.

Am I really the only one with this weird SIM glitch? Every now and then the phone loses the SIM card and I have to re-enter my PIN code. This didn't happen on stock ROM or JJRLS4. Saunalahti_ril.zip installed, could it be because of that?

Is this really loosing the sim card or do you get a silent reboot? In the latter case you also need to re-enter the PIN.

Do i have to wipe always when updating to newer version. For example from rl5 to rl6?

It's losing SIM, it happened again a few minutes ago while I was browsing menus and I can now confirm the phone did not reboot. So far I've just taken the phone out of my pocket and every now and then the SIM has been locked so I wasn't sure.

Now I was casually browsing some menus and the cross symbol just suddenly appeared on the bars icon. A second later I got the "Enter PIN code" popup. Enter PIN, OK, phone says "Code accepted" and all back to normal.

The minute-ago-released RLS6 seems to have nothing related to this, so maybe I'll wait for RLS7/8/9 or some other fix.

One other thing.

I am using adfree, if I go to some apps (e.g. advanced taskkiller free (ATK) I see at the bottom some 20-40 pixels or so with to the left side half of an android icon upside down.

I can even scroll in this area and then there is a url. Cant really read it as it is dark violet.

This seems to be related to ad-free or ATK. If I reset my hosts file the area where the ad is, was the place where this link is.

Strange thing is that I never saw it with french fries.

Anyone similar experiences ? Reinstalling ad-free did not help.

Is somebody tried the RLS6? Is it much better than RLS5? Is it worth to upgrade?

In that case it seems you're temporarily loosing the radio.

You will also get the pin code dialog if you e.g. go to airplane mode and back.

Pal, it was released only 15 minutes ago. Most people are not even aware of it.

I'll try an upgrade anyway. Will start the download right away.

Oh, sorry. I didn't see the date of the rls.

Anyway I'm interested in battery consumption.

First findings:

downlowaded, removed gmail and car home (i have these from market).

works fine.

Still have the ATK/adfree issue.

This one does go to sleep when disconnected, but not when connected over usb.

(actually maybe this was the case with R5 too, I tried connected as the battery was low, when connected it does not seem to go to sleep).

guess my overnight power loss was caused by radio. (thinking of it I'd better removed it too).

I do like the fact that the rom is small and most of the stuff is from the market. This makes it a lot easier to manage and configure.

Kallt, thanks alot and keep up the good work!

No, you made the mistake. The compressed download file is 77mb but when you install it on your phone it uses 123mb on your phone's system partition. That's only important if you've changed your partition sizes.

First flash the rom using clockworkmod, let it boot, then shut down.

Next fire up clockworkmod and use install zip from sdcard and install the Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS6_hw_ui_zip file to enable.

What's your motivation for enabling HW acceleration though? The largely subjective improvement comes at a cost...

Hmm... you are right, it doesn't. Sorry about that. Thought it was working fine but I guess it just positioned me using using wireless. I'll make an update that fixes this. I'm pretty sure it will start working again if you remove the SUPL lines in /system/etc/gps.conf.
