Guest tpipe Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Awesome work on this ROM - I've tried a few and this is way out in front of the rest. Keep it up! Couple of minor feature requests: Support for DSP Manager - (tried to add it myself, but something to do with prelinkmap caused it to fail and it's beyond me to get it to work!) Add cifs.ko - to enable native SMB/CIFS support. If you could find time to integrate these that would be fantastic! Thanks
Guest Len Ash Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 For us newbies, could you please tell us how? I'll do a brief ADB "How to Change build.prop" elsewhere. Rather than hijack this thread!
Guest Bigbyte.me Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 hi kallt_kaffe. Thanks for the excellent ROM. Any chances of fixing the always full signal indication bud. Plus can u introduce the signal level (in dbm ) indicator in relevant section?
Guest NightSt@lk3r Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I'm pretty sure it will start working again if you remove the SUPL lines in /system/etc/gps.conf. Yep that fixed it :D
Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Im pretty sure you can do it from Root Explorer. Go to /system click the "Mount R/W" button, and then open the build.prop file then find the line: debug.sf.hw=0 and change it to 1. Save and reboot Im not really sure if this actually works

Guest orangeman2003 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Yes that works, that's how i have been turning it on and off previously. would this method work with removing the SUPL lines in /system/etc/gps.conf? Thanks
Guest alanwoolley Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Does this ROM use the stock contacts app? I can't remember if it's this or FLB which used a different one that didn't have the option to join contacts.

Guest Quu Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 hm i dont know why but i did wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and... i install rom and i have my old apps :< maybe i should format sd card or something? Yeah, you probably have Apps2SD, thats kinda the idea of it. :D
Guest godsakes Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 do you have to wipe data & cache to update from rs5 to rs6?
Guest Tarot Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Maybe it would be better to do ROM with enabled hardware accellerated UI and addon to disable hardware accellerated UI. This is just my suggestion. It is not difficult to me to use Root Explorer
Guest Frankish Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 @kallt Would it be possible in the next version to sign framework-res.apk and system apps with test key like Paul and flibs roms? I think that will solve the problems people have with restoring a nandroid with my themes applied! Just a bump for this incase it were missed. Doing the above allows greater customisation of system apps and more. Please consider it.
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Fix for the broken GPS in RLS6 attached in first post. Sorry for the inconvinience...
Guest robot1000 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 How much of a difference does Hardware accleerated UI make to the speed of the device, as I'm planning to overclock the device as well?
Guest Afrodude Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 How much of a difference does Hardware accleerated UI make to the speed of the device, as I'm planning to overclock the device as well? Very very little. I find application launching to be slightly slower. The UI seems slightly smother though. Its really not worth enabling it.
Guest HitcH90 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Yeah, you probably have Apps2SD, thats kinda the idea of it. :P ehh again... i format all, system, cache, data and sd card (with exp) i install something and my old apps appear in menu :< But... i cant run it. I try and just is Force close nothing else. I used FLB, new version :D Can some1 tell me what apps are include?
Guest Anjan Tek Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) I was on RLS5. Working fine. Updated to RLS6 and rebooted. Did not wipe cache and data because it should not be necessary. Seemed to be working fine after reboot. So, I rebooted into clockwork again and installed the AHB overclock zip file. After installing the zip and rebooting, the phone's Radio would just not connect to my operator. And going into the Settings -> Wireless... -> Mobile Networks would force close the settings application. All my widgets went missing. So, I rebooted into clockwork again and wiped cache + data. Then, after setting up the phone again, everything seems to be working. In Titanium, is there some system app I can backup and later restore so I can get back all the configuration settings in the Android Settings app? Edited January 9, 2011 by Anjan Tek
Guest Frankish Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Is there an overclocked kernel for RLS6? I mean actual cpu overclock not the ahb one?
Guest rxexdxbxaxnxd Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 hm i dont know why but i did wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and... i install rom and i have my old apps :< maybe i should format sd card or something? You chose google backup, the app configuration is saved on google servers along with wireless settings and wallpaper etc... when you flash new, and fill in your google account details on that first startup, it restores the apps it can, the wallpaper and the wifi settings, etc... There seems to be no way to control tis other than allow backup and automatic restore, or not...
Guest KasioPC Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Is there an overclocked kernel for RLS6? I mean actual cpu overclock not the ahb one? The kernel has overclocking enabled. You need to use an app such as setCPU or similar. Unless I misunderstood the question
Guest tucniak Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Hi, very nice job. I currently switched to your RLS5 version from the initial pauls custom 2.1. It seems to run little faster, for instance angry birds season were totally unplayable, now it seems to work (at least first levels). On the other hand i seems the battery consumption is somehow higher (pauls rom had HW accel too, tough). Do u recommend switching to RLS6 (im not sure about the GPS thing), or rather waiting for rls 7? thx
