Guest Frankish Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 oh dear..parents eh!? ;) I'm not a fan of the desire..I had one for a whole 24 hours on loan..and it burned my ear lol :( My Desire couldn't get 3G in my home even if i forced it and my San Fran constantly has H with a minimum 2 bars signal. Strange eh? I had to go about a mile from my home before my Desire would hit the H.

Guest cartierv Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) I should add from before. Something like a BB Pearl would be my 2nd phone possibly and the SF my first. It has been a long time. I actually came from a Motorola FONE ... which is a simple and sturdy device. Although briefly was using an Alcatel unit. Mobile phones have simply not been a priority for me over the years and only really started using them just over a year ago. They are now mini pcs in all but name, and that's ok, but I don't really fancy having a near half grand payg unit broken or stolen either. As far as Android goes there doesn't seem to be that much to choose and I feel I've made the right choice in the OSF. Android is like the PC market, there's zillions of units. Overwhelmingly they don't look particularly stylish or that much different to one another. They look like consumer electronics which is what they are. The OSF is no different, other than it packs a lot for the price. It's great to have a smart phone that can play a few 3d games and so on, but I don't want to be doing too much of that with it. Just want to be able to phone people, be phoned and text , maybe some web and email. Wifi and being able to type decently were also a consideration fro me. Everything else is a bonus. The OSF covers that greatly. With the unoffical ROM upgrades, and some level of bus/cpu overclock this will be fine for ages. Edited December 28, 2010 by cartierv

Guest Fou-lu Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Next phone? Nexus 2 "super awsome" AMOLED, 3ghz bumblebee processor, quad-core chip.. 1ghz ram, 32gb SDcard hdmi port made by HTC release date: 17-22 december 2010 if only...
Guest curl66 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 i have a sgs 9000, got it as warranty exchange from VF for my Nokia 5800. Its really good but original software sucks. wouldt bought it for 450 euros. got a swiss blade, too, as my "private" phone. also supplied some friends with it. for 85 euro its fantastic :( just need froyo. because of my VF contract i get a new phone in feb anyway. so i think about a galaxy tab or something similar. definitly larger screen than sgs 9000. because i did not need a third phone ;)
Guest Raspa Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Nothing until a decent dual core phone comes out. I definitely don't include anything by LG in decent.
