Guest gusthy Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 on mine it says LCD information:/proc/mam_lcdisn't exsit or you hasn't the read authority! WTF??? Is your phone rooted?
Guest Arr Too Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Is your phone rooted? That shouldn't matter: those files ought to be readable by every user (and probably not writable by anyone!).
Guest yadabwoy Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 I managed to get a oled one wooohoo
Guest gardenoftrees Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 My oled was trashed by a cup of coffee so I bought another which is tft.
Guest yadabwoy Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 My oled was trashed by a cup of coffee so I bought another which is tft. not that much a difference after playing around with both of them
Guest dadashi Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 My oled was trashed by a cup of coffee so I bought another which is tft. what...? did you actually drop it into a big mug of coffee? I can't see how a little spill over the SF would break it permanently? I've already had some spills on mine which I wiped clean...
Guest frenchy77 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 To be absolutely sure which screen type you have: Dial *983*24474636# in the dialer. (refer to “Glass” to determine which screen category your phone falls under) OLED LCD Information: IC: TL2796 Glass: Samsung TFT/LCD IC: NT35580 Glass: LEAD OR Glass: TRULY So to conclude if you have Glass:Samsung then it is OLED (No ifs and buts) I have been very lucky here ... the one I got from Orange shop in early Dec was Oled, then I bought another from them for my wife in late Dec ... sadly this one was TFT, BUT it also had very poor reception (bad antenna) and Orange kindly replaced it Jan 29th ... with a brand new/boxed Oled !! so they do still have some stock around DONE. WORKS FINE. MINE IS SADLY A TFT.
Guest SUBZEROUK Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 hello i have recentley got a new sanfrancisco my old one broke but the display was perfect.Even though it was tft i now have one thats glass lead instead of glass truly and the display is really dark and the text doesnt look good should i take it back? or is there anything wrong with the display
Guest CoccoBill Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Hi all, I'm totally new to android and the SanFran. Just bought one and I'm checking everything out before trying a new ROM. My first question is: is my SF OLED or TFT? - if I check my build number I get: OCH_P29BV1.0.0B05 (which should mean it's OLED, right?) - if I dial *983*24474636# under "LCD information" I get "Glass: LEAD" The guy who sold me the phone said it's OLED So what? The phone comes from switzerland and it has OCH instead of OUK in the build number, does this mean that I should not trust the rest of the code? Stupid question: in the list I get by dialling that number I get this info, at the bottom: Flash information: SAMSUNG 4G NAND what does that mean? Thanks a lot!
Guest DannyDanny Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 mine just says nvalid MMI code I tried in different roms but never worked
Guest ndubz Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Hey i got mine around septemeber or october i think so i assume its an oled, the chipertest says: LCD information: IC:TL2796 Glass: SAMSUNG resolution: 480*800 does that mean mines an oled one? thanks

Only Samsung is OLED
Guest HACKDROID Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 mine just says nvalid MMI code I tried in different roms but never worked i get the same error although it used to work when i was on seb's 2.1 roms in the early days but currenly on flb r9/10 and the codes just dont work it may be something to do with the types of dialler used in the rom?
Guest Pierreism Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 I got a TFT one recently after having had an OLED one since December and I'm honestly annoyed at the difference in screen quality. It's really noticeable. The TFT's red/orange/pink reproduction is even worse than my 2006 LG Viewty I still have lying around! Wayy too incandescent for my liking and kind of painful to look at for long periods of time. For those who've only had a TFT model, you don't know what you're missing! And I now realise how good a value handset the Blade was last year! Glad I jumped on and got one of them early.

Guest Bart Prokop Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) Hi, I recently get one ZTE Blade from Polish telecom Play. It says: LCD Information: IC:HX8369 Glass: TRULY Resolution:480*800 I assume mine is TFT. Phone is GEN1 with Android 2.1 but seems they have different IC for display now. I've just bought a second hand one with a custom rom, so not sure.. :|
Guest Max-Power Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Actually, nevermind I got it sorted. I was on Swedish Spring 4b and the CHIPINFO code never worked... but on installing the ZTE dialler after, it did and it said it was a SAMSUNG screen from there :) Good thread this for people that now buy second hand ones (giving my mint condition TFT one to my sis-in-law as I'm nice).
