Marketplace and windows live connectivity errors

I have a Samsung omnia 2 GT-I8000L which is same as th I8000's. I had the original BELL (canada) rom which I recently changed over to the following ROM with help from these forums:

LITE ROM Titanium Based on JE3 R2.

But, after changing the rom and getting everything else to work properly, Msn messenger and windows live, which were included in the new rom (rom creation date is I believe June 2010), I can't seem to connect to messenger using the wireless data connection or not even through wifi. It used to work ok on the stock rom from BELL. I get the following message every time I try, whether wifi or data network:

"There's a connectivity problem. Make sure you're in an area with good reception and try again".

So, now I'm using Palringo messenger, which seems to have no problems with connecting, but I still want to know how I can fix the real msn messenger.

I tried re-installing messenger from windows marketplace to see if it would solve the problem. BUT, when I try installing windows live or ANY OTHER app from windows marketplace, it tries the installation and then gives me the message

"error - your phone's time information appears to be incorrect. Ensure the time and date in your phone's settings are correct and try again".

I know that I have the right time and date, so don't know what this means. I tried to install another windows marketplace program file on the storage card to see if that would give me better results ( I tried installing Marketplace_sc_1.2.1422.0.cab = edited, which can be installed in any folder), but I keep getting the same stupid error message as listed above.
