Guest rawsnake Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Apparently Fede is doing a full rewrite of launcher pro cause he wanted to expand it past the stock 2.0 launcher. Should be brilliant, much faster than anything we've seen before plus that'll allow him to add any tweaks he likes. Can't wait. Still, even without the rewrite, I still have to go with launcher pro. So much easier and faster than anything else. Plus, with the docks and the entire interface in itself it's just so much better than the stock. Sure ADW EX is customizable to an extreme in basically every aspect but I still gotta pick functionality and ease of use over style.
Guest jmpan Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I've been using Launcher Pro for around a year, and never had a single issue with it. Sure software sometimes gets its knickers in a twist, so reboot, and forget about it. I wouldn't get rid of it, just because it crashed once . you are right. actually i am going to try something new, crash give me a good excuse B)
Guest cartierv Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Launcher Pro always seemed good to me, although scalable icons would be nice. It says they are scalable when you resize the grid but nothing happens. I have no idea at all, I mean the mind really boggles why at least a couple of launchers have put in this crap ghastly '3d' effect on the app drawer. Aside from the fact it looks terrible, there's very specific design reasons why that actually doesn't work. Which reminds me has as anyone written a new app drawer ? The standard one could really use a lick of paint so to speak. How long has Android been out and list of icons on a black background... it already looks horribly dated and crummy ?
Guest Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Since yesterday Launcher Pro (Free) and now ADW Launcher EX. It seems that ADW Launcher EX is sometimes a little bit smoother and has some very nice animations. alpinestars
Guest mark2410 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 dxTop i really really like its layout, unfortunately its not the quickest launcher
Guest Sanddancer75 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 ADW EX, I tried Launcher Pro, but had issues with it waiting and force closing.
Guest targetbsp Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 While Zeam was faster than LauncherPro on 2.1, it seems the other way around on 2.2 so I'm back to LauncherPro again!
Guest lineage Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 tried zeam, go, ADW and launcher pro on the 2.2 blade. i would say launcher pro has the most stable performance, others are a bit laggy.. would like to have a go on ADW EX tho
Guest Chuzzwuzzer Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I cant seem to find the setting for 3D app drawer in LauncherPro.Is this only in the paid for version ?
Guest exec Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I cant seem to find the setting for 3D app drawer in LauncherPro.Is this only in the paid for version ? Go into advanced settings in launcherpro, should be in the middle of that menu.
Guest targetbsp Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 It's in the free one too. It's under advanced settings.
Guest shadowninty Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Go Launcher! it don't crash no more ;)
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 launcher pro plus no problem with it (i'm using the cube it's like my pc destop ;) ) i like the option to save all the stuff don't know if you have this in adw ?
Guest shadowninty Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 pretty sure ADW has cube effect too ;)
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 pretty sure ADW has cube effect too ;) sorry the option to save all the settings, the icons, number of homescreens etc....
Guest Rotmann Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Yep, it has them too. I envy my wife's ADW EX powered SanFran with the fancy zoom-in-out animations when opening apps ;) Also the fancy screen transitions are faster on the ADW EX and there are more to choose from.
Guest BeingScared Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 ;) I use ADW EX I started off with Launcher pro, tried the new version too. Oh and I also tried out the new Go EX, it's not that bad, felt smoother than LP. But none of them feel as good as ADW EX.

Guest suriya83 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 i was using go launcher ex, but it became unresponsive more often so now back to launcher pro
Guest sihumphries Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 I really like Launcher Pro (and paid for Plus) but it seemed to kill my battery so I went back to ADW (free). Anyone else have problems with Launcher Pro (Plus) and battery or have any tweaks to increase battery life while using Launcher Pro (Plus)?
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Everyone likes ADW and Launcher Pro - Fancy transitions and fancy widgets I use the stock gingerbread launcher. This is because although the home screen transitions are nice on those apps, the app drawers are not. Nothing can compete with the stock 2.3 app drawer (or even stock 2.2 one) - ITS SO SMOOOOOTH. And because I only use one home screen, I barely flick through screens, so the somewhat jumpy home screen transition in the stock launchers doesn't bother me. I just love the app drawer smoothness :) Edited April 18, 2011 by Mushroom_Lord
