Overclocking success with new kernel

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the android scene of late (froyo) but I got myself a San fran about 3 weeks ago & I'm loving it! My fav thing so far has been pushing the phone as hard as I can to get the best performance possible form this £99 handset!

My setup :-

orange san fran (White) unlocked & running on giffgaff uk. TFT screen.

JJrls9 with both the hw_ui and the overclocked kernel add-on installed.

SetCPU 2.1.0 currently set to 710/320mhz with on demand scaling. It seems pretty stable, no lockups of freezes & it's very fast, but I want more! I can take it up to 730/320mhz but I get random lockups until the phone reboots. Am I doing something wrong? Should I aler the low-end setting?

Without setcpu installed, quadrant gives me 421

With setCPU set like this

2011%2020:08:39.jpg

Quadrant gives me 525!

 very happy so far. There's a fantastic & very noticeable difference in speeds between stock (600mhz) & 710. The only issue I'm having is battery life is decreased, however i am aware that this is inevitable. I haven't done it yet but I need to set some profiles for screen off etc.

I managed to get 553 in quadrant with setCPU at 730/320 but it crashed when I captured the screenshot!

Any advice/questions/comments? Please feel free to post the same!

Hey guys, new to all this overclocking but ive got setCPU and ive set up a profile so that if the temp goes above 50 degrees C it will change back to standard speed. Ive Run at 672 Max and 320 Min on demand and after about 10min i had warnings from setCPU and it changed to the set profile. Was just wondering is this normal? and what does everyone else' temp run at? done wanna cook my cpu lol. Cheers guys

Will this work? Or have I missed something?

# Unplug the phone from the charger/PC and take out the battery.

# Replace the battery.

# Turn on the phone whilst holding the Volume Down button on the side of your phone. Continue to hold the Volume Down button for 5 seconds..

# ClockworkMod Recovery should load on your phone.

# Plug the phone into your PC.

# Use the Volume buttons on the side of the phone to highlight mounts and storage.

# Press the Home button to select.

# Highlight mount USB storage and press the Home button.

# A new storage device should be recognised on your computer. On your computer, copy the overclock file (the zip file) and paste it straight to the root of the storage device. Do not paste it into any folders, just the root of the device. Do NOT unzip or extract the file.

# Wait for the file to copy.

# On your phone, press the Back button twice.

# Highlight Install zip from sdcard and press the Home button.

# Highlight choose zip from sdcard and press the Home button.

# Highlight the zip file you copied to your phone and press the Home button.

# Highlight Yes - Install ... and press the Home button.

Press the Back button, highlight reboot system now and press the Home button

How about the over/underclocking as part of JuiceDefender (paid)?

Does that work as well as setCPU? It reports my ROM (FLB-froyo R10) as compatible, but my first (over-ambitious) attempt didn't go well....

Im not to clued up with all this,im using flb10b with the nofrills cpu,,and using quadrant, got it set to 652mnz and mion 245mhz-ondemand i constantly get in the 700.,my latest test shown 752

I did get just over 1000 but that was set to 806 and the phone kept freezing :D

setting it to 748mhz causes it to freeze also,so for now 652 will be fine as im worried it may explode :(

Quadrant gave me 944, that can't be right.

Mine's only overclocked to 672, temps were getting to about 35 once >700 and although stable, the phone was getting too warm whilst playing angry birds. :D
