lol, not heckling... wanting the push option thats all - thus the questioning... which it doesn't have, only increments based on those settings listed above.

except it does say Automatic(push) under email check frequency. where it gives the options of every 5/10/15/30/60/never/automatic(push).

lol, well i believe i do have the beta2... cause in beta1 there was no refresh. then i put beta2 on and had the refresh button - so i know i have a new version. i bet it because your hotmail is set up as exchange. Only diff between our versions i can tell.

You could be right, have just checked, and the automatic option doesnt show for the gmail acc.

can the gmail acc be set up as exchange? or is exchange microsoft only?(my noob status has revealed itself once more lol)

i just tried to set it up as exchange, no go for me. for whatever reason, the app now isn't refreshing like it should. Last refresh shows 7:46, its 8:02 now and i have it set on 10 min updates... damn, really thought i could eliminate sync for gmail.

you. are. awesome. apparently i needed to leave the "/" in front of my email and needed the check for accept all ssl.

Thanks a million. right when i set it up, notifications kicked in from emails, and push is now an option.

Do you have to do something to you gmail account to enable exchange? I tried the settings above in the Galaxy Tab email app but had no luck, it just says:

"Setup could not finish. Cannot connect to server."

you should set the gmail acc from scratch, and choose exchange, then the settings that are in my other post.

surely that can't be required after each and every reboot

I had it working stable, rebooted and back to force closes.

i am reading through the logs now to see what is causing it

no, only clear data the frst time. are you using a task killer?

has anyone got this to work on 319? I just get force closes i cleared the data in manage applications, oddly it does not show the uninstall option there

remember to put a m. before the server name. for example m.hotmail.com
