Guest armdroid Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Why would they do that? I used a hole punch. Fixed the problem immediately.

Guest Sanddancer75 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't put too much effort into resolving your problem donalkeane. You'll only end up even more disappointed when you see the quality of the camera. The screen protector can't make it much worse then it already is. Edited February 1, 2011 by Sanddancer75
Guest montage Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Hope that horrible blue led light isn't still on there...
Guest armdroid Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I took my screen protector off easily enough to clean some dust that had gotten underneath when I fitted it the first time. I used some warm soapy water to clean it before re-applying. The lack of a camera hole was obvious when I initially tried to figure out the orientation of it and the problem was solved easily.
Guest perz750 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I have the dock, came with the pad I bought from ebay. Wouldn't be without it now. Mine has the blue led on the front which is a bit "bright" but fixed that with a little bit of blck tape. Does get annoying if I put it on charge when I am in bed. The viewing angle is not adjustable but it fine, seems set just about right for me. It has 3 usb, two of which I am using now for keyboard and mouse. What I like is that I don't have to play with the usb switcher. If I want to use the dock with keyboard or mouse I just drop it on the dock and away you go. It does have to be powered to do this, the ports do not seem to work without the power supply plugged in. Which is ok for when I want to use slave mode, just dock it, remove power supply, plug the usb into the pad and laptop and I can transfer files. Another great use I found is that when I don't want to use the pad I just drop it onto the dock and leave it there, no more scratches on the rear or frights when the kids are around and looking for a table mat for their drinks. Ha.

Guest debs626 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) £39.99 !!!! what was the point of this survey if the average was up to £30 :D I was just thinking the same ... no mention of power cable coming with it too Is there one included ? Even if there was .... it's out of my price range anyway :D Edited February 18, 2011 by debs626
Guest OwenRW Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Is this available in store, or is it online only?
Guest weasle007 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I think the poll results speak for themselves. There is a cheaper stand case coming also. Sorry, but no they don't. Over 87% of voters only wanted to pay £30 or less, and well over a third of those only £20. I'm dissapointed, and look forward to when these go in the half price sale.
Guest T4ylor Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 This is now available. Takes a while to be searchable. Advent Vega Dock on PCWorld I do like the idea behind and it's what most us would like to have buts its not a necessity so at that price it's not for me sorry
Guest Dentist Jed Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 No PSU? Then its £20 tops for me.
Guest stevesilk51 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 If you can get it with a discount code i.e. £10 at least off, I'll order one, otherwise I'll just use the Vega in host mode with a small double USB hub I have which works fine. The Poll suggested <£30, Advent need to rethink this or they won't sell many!
Guest Maxwell4321 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) 4 port USB hub £5-10 from anywhere you like except PCW Modified Plate Stand £1.99 from Wilkinsons Already supplied with Vega HDMI Port £0 Speaker output £0 Charging £0 Total to do everything this dock does £7 - £12 Edited February 18, 2011 by Maxwell4321
Guest tomolewis Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 £40 is very expensive for this i think.
Guest celyn Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 for £30 i would have definitely got this.
Guest celyn Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Here is a new image of the dock. It will be in stock soon. Keep an eye out for sku 419767 on the website. I will link when it goes up. On the accessories thread a you said it would be £29.99 is there any reason why it has gone up?
Guest elephantsoup Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Too Expensive. For about £25 maybe worth buying.
Guest extrememonkey Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 asking for the publics opinion and then ignoring it....... Nice!!!!
Guest MonkeyBoy451 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) What a complete crock of sh1t - they said it was going to be 29.99 & now its on the website for 39.99.. no thanks! Edit: I tweeted @adventvega asking why its now 39.99 - will see if we get an answer. Edited February 18, 2011 by MonkeyBoy451
Guest stevesilk51 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I suppose it could be a ploy. Set it up for £39.99 then voucher code it to £29.99? Would rather £29.99 to £19.99 though ;-)
Guest zzleezz Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Adding my voice to the general tone of outrage here. Advent/DSG, hang your heads. There is no way this thing costs you any more than £10 to buy in my opinion, even if it was as much as £20 you are going for a massive mark up there. I had a lot of respect for you for putting out a tablet that made the price of all the competition look completely out of touch, you just lost that respect. Its hardly transparent practice to put out a cheap device that is popular and then stiff the customer base you built up by having artificially high priced accessories. My vote was for £20, do you think I will buy one of these?
Guest worto03 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I've got to agree with what's already been said, if you stick a £10 off voucher on it id probably get it but doesn't really add enough to what the vega can already do to for me to justify a £40 spend
