Guest markusj Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Yep. :D try fastboot.exe instead of fastboot-windows. I've never done it other way
Guest Pe_te Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) try fastboot.exe instead of fastboot-windows. I've never done it other way Ahh, just got it. That really was a stupid question. Next stupid question! It's now accepting the command but comes up with "<waiting for device>". What am I doing wrong this time? :D Edited January 12, 2011 by Pe_te

(Turn it on while pressing the volume up button, you can release it after 10s, it should be stuck on the android screen) Check if it's plugged in. It happened to me many times that I was desperately trying to flash something on my blade, and after ten minutes I had to realize that it was on the charger, not in the USB port :P Edited January 12, 2011 by markusj

Plugged into the socket for the USB, which is also the charger socket. Did you have to install any drivers, because it seems like the command prompt can't find the device... None came with the actual phone and I've downloaded and installed some, which doesn't seem to have helped. Thanks for the reply. :P

My win7 automatically installed all the drivers for fastboot. I needed this driver only for adb.

Guest IronDoc Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) Quote: Winamp syncs only through Windows Winamp program and doubletwist is paid app, right? Right on both counts I think (edit: I stand corrected). If you want to use any old media player with USB sync you can just create .isimediaplayer in the SD root. Most music program with sync support this I believe. Syntax documentation is a little hard to find, probably best to look for your specific player. Don't encode them with too high quality and they play fine on rockplayer.
Guest markusj Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 What do you mean by "remove the funny characters"? :D Sorry, last time I've checked it had chinese characters in the directory's name, you had to remove it, because the default englisht windows couldn't handle them.

Ahh thanks. Still having the same problem though, returns < Waiting for Device > when I enter the command. Anyone know what's going wrong? :D
Guest Janil Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 How to backup only specific stuff? Ie. where are apps' settings saved? Also, how to backup contacts and messages only? I'm not sure what eg. Titanium Backup likes if I switch my ROM and try to restore everything?
Guest Pe_te Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Re checked all my driver's with the official ones on the ZTE site, but still having the same problem... Does no one seriously have any idea what's going on with this? :D Really need help...

When you run fastboot it should find device straight away.

Guest Matthew Ferguson Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Q , is it possible to pull a power wigget from one rom , and push it to a new rom ? i am on pauls r4 froyo but tried flbs latest froyo . my only gripe was power widget didnt have "mobile data tab" . hope to pull it from pauls and push to flb`s before i switch full time , is this possible , or will there be deeper compatability issues ? many thanks It's probably easier if you just find an app on the market that does what you want, with custom widgets. I use something called SwitchPro Widget, which costs, but there might be a free one. You can make it look exactly like the stock power control, but you can even add an extra button, remove ones, have whatever you want on there. Try it out, it works perfectly for me :D

Guest Anjan Tek Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Thanks! Good idea, I'll try it right away. If it still hasn't worked for you, I think you may be better off booting from an Ubuntu Live CD and flashing your recovery image from there. Ubuntu has the drivers built-in and there is no messing around with drivers. It has a 100% success rate.

Windows was fine when I installed the drivers. It's not as simple as one being better than the other.
