Some reason on 1.6.0 after spending some time in the browser, when I go back to the home screen Launcher Pro for some reason, has to "redraw" everything - icons/widgets pop-up one at a time, like the disappeared... any way to fix this? It's not a big deal, just a little annoying because the App Drawer remains blank till the homescreen completes itself

How is this possible. I have the same battery and it doesn't even last 10 hours:-( . I'm also using smartass. Can you post your detailed setup?

I just clocked out 30 hours on a charge with 40% remaining before I recharged just to be sure I had an alarm tomorrow morning.

That is with regular use throughout the 30 hour period.

I am overclocked using smartass as well.

I am using Juice Defender, I don't enable the data radios at night when I sleep (who cares if I get email at 3am, not me) and I don't use social networking software at all (these are major juice suckers). I also make sure the browser is closed out when I am done with it, those autoloading ads everyone likes to add to their sites for me to ignore eat battery as well.

I've always gotten good charge times out of Steve's ROM's using these methods but with 1.6.0 it's the best I've seen so far.

Hey Steve,

Any updates on when 1.6.1 will be released?

Posted

I haven't been able to post an update since I installed 1.6 so here it is. Hands down best rom on the streak since i got it. Thank you very much. Everything is working as it should. One slight issue is orientation with taken pictures but it's nothing major. It's unbelievably fast with smartass option. Battery life is very good even with fb and twitter sync. So once again THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

On a side note is there anyone that's able to fix droid x keyboard issue with delete, l, and m keys. Issue being when pressing delete key close to the edges it would register it as either m or l key but not the other way around.

Is there a way to change the size of the notification badge numbers? In the notification bar I mean, the badges are huge and completely cover up the icon of say... Plume for instance

Keep launcher pro in memory option checked?

I have just be shuffling between 1.6.0 and 1.5.3 n have come to the conclusion tht 1.5.3 is better for games....for e.g Hawx keeps freezing on 1.6.0 while works smoothly on 1.5.3....

too bad...i guess ill have to jump to 1.6.1 from 1.5.3 to see if tht fares better..

Mm it could be the kgsl tweaks messing it up, they seem to effect some gameloft games

, I guess gl aren't doing things strictly legit with their coding.

its something with GL....cause today on 1.5.3 gameloft games arent functioning as well as they were doing yesterday///

so I dont think its got anything to do with 1.6.0 or 1.5.3..

however 1.5.3 seems slightly better....

Its a bit of a strange one that though. Im currently on the last 1.5 release and my battery life is very poor compared to the previous 1.5 release I was on. I havent installed anything new or running anything differently, but the battery life while sitting idle is significantly worse than before.

Im hoping that it will improve again when I upgrade to 1.6, but there must be something in the ROMS somewhere thats affecting battery life. I guess there are just so many different variables, in terms of user behaviour / apps installed etc that it would be impossible to get to the bottom of it.

PS this is in no way a criticism of Stephen and the excellent work hes doing :)

Hi, I've done some rough tests over the last couple of nights to test the battery when my streak is "in-active". (running 1.6.1 beta)

My settings for WiFi are;

Notifications off

Sleepy Policy never

From power control;

Wifi on / BT off/ GPS on / Syn on / Brightnes (Auto - via Display settings)

I am not using any battery savings or applications killer services.

Test one;

One widget running Tweetdeck (9 columns set to refresh every 12 mins)

Battery from 100% to 91% after 12 hours.

Test two (Multiple widgets;)

Tweetdeck - 9 columns set to refresh every 12 mins

Sky News (sports) - update every 1 hr

BBC News - update every 2 hrs

Goal.com - (default setting - can't find where to change)

Guardian Lite - sync all images and content at 6am

News and Weather - update every 6 hrs

Footy Focus (default setting - can't find where to change)

Battery from 100% to 84% after 12 hours

Both tests were run from 9:30pm to 9:30am (with very occasional use i.e unlock screen to check tweet updates, email and this website ;) )

IMHO this Build is fantastic both for battery life and performance (I'm also using adw ex as my default launcher)

Sorry if I missed a similar post but I can install 1.6 only if I DO NOT use a install.cfg file. Without a cfg file, 1.6 loads. With a cfg file, I hang up after the Dell logo (black screen). I have tried the following:

- Formatted SD card

- created folder structure android\streakdroid\install.cfg

- copied the update.zip to sd

- rebooted

- fastbooted steves amss.mbn

- rebooted

- clockwork to install update from zip

- file loads

- rebooted

- Dell logo comes up then black screen

here's the cfg used:

volboost

tabmail

us180

bios

I've used each of steve's roms from 1.4.6 with no problem. I just seem to have a problem with the cfg file. Any help?

US180 setting in the .cfg is bugged. Remove it and try again, you'll be fine.

Pretty sure there's an earlier post from Steve stating there's an issue with volboost. Try removing if from the cfg. (1.6.1 should resolve the volboost problem) ;)

Installed over 1.5.3. with noapps in install.cfg. Using launcher pro plus. SETCPU set to 1267max 245min Smartass. Widgetoid widgets. I usually turn of WiFi out of the house, but sometimes I forget. I dont do any gaming (Angry birds drain the battery fast) - I browse a lot and sometimes read books in kindle app. In other words no special setup. If I forget to charge during the night its usually at around 50% in the morning.

Correct. If volboost is selected, then the smartass kernel wont be installed.

I think rebel sim and your supl settings are more the issue

What supl settings? I install a clean version of 1.5.3 or 1.6 and then install google earth or copilot and when i start it and it loads the map with gps and wifi on it will restart the phone. As for google maps i can do everything excepte if i go into Navagator "first person mode" to look around. The like person icon it will freeze and restart. With google earth and copilot if i turn off gps and only use wireless networks everything is ok. Witch is kinda useless away from any wi-fi lol. And for Navigator, any options change nothing. So using GPS with Streakdroid bugs out my streak but disabling my gps and using wireless networks as my locating it works great on most of them

US180 setting in the .cfg is bugged. Remove it and try again, you'll be fine.

Got rid of the US180 and tried the following cfg:

launcherpro

volboost

tabmail

everything loaded; however, the tabmail will not load any messages. When I try to load messages, I get an FC. I'm going to try removing volboost as sugested by anthscorner.

Dropped volboost still FC with tabmail.

there are lots of issues with tabmail, so don't use that option until Steve irons things out

You may need to set your permissions with Tabmail. Check the Tabmail thread. Worked for me!

You all getting the crazy 10+ hours of batter life - is this using the base battery or the Mugen one? Using Smartass governor on 1.6.0, I CAN get about 10 hrs from the base battery - I believe 1.4.6 was netting me closer to 13 hours life on a full charge - On 1.5.3, I was lucky to see 8 hours

Current setup: Smartass governor - 384min 1036MHz max (moderate texting, browsing/tweeting)

Keep launcher pro in memory option checked?

That seems to have worked!
