Guest johnh123 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Yep. Installed 1.6.1 all over again even. Didnt work. Im gonna factory reset. Just flashed 1.5.1 and booting. Factory reset as in the one in the Dell page right? Not clockwork? I've never had a problem before, but this one took a factory reset and back to 1.5.1 for me. After several tries, I'm now fine at 1.6.1
Guest TheSacredSoul Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I've never had a problem before, but this one took a factory reset and back to 1.5.1 for me. After several tries, I'm now fine at 1.6.1 Well it booted up fine after the hard reset. Flashing 1.5.1 now. And then ill do a factory reset thru clockwork and flash 1.6.1

Guest TheSacredSoul Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I did a factory reset yet I am stuck on the StreakDroid screen. Hmmm.
Guest Hothan Dao Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 In 1.6.1, I find Boot Image and Vibration icon on notification are so ugly lol. Btw, A very smooth and worth a try version.
Guest johnh123 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I did a factory reset yet I am stuck on the StreakDroid screen. Hmmm. Keep trying. I had to do it several times back to 1.5.1 etc.
Guest TheSacredSoul Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Keep trying. I had to do it several times back to 1.5.1 etc. I am. Tried to flash back to 1.5.1 and it got stuck in the Dell logo. Trying a factory reset again. When you factory reset in clockwork before flashing 1.6.1, do you have to wipe cache and davlik too? EDIT : Third time fac resetting and flashed 1.6.1. If it still fails to boot, I think Ill nandroid back to 1.6.0. Edited January 23, 2011 by TheSacredSoul

Guest LorD CLockaN Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I'll repeat once again! Don't do factory reset within android! Don't do factory reset within clockworkmod! Do factory reset only via Stock recovery screen (white text on black bg)! That'll do a proper FR and every time worked for me! I was flashing betas almost every day the last 7 days...
Guest vinokirk Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 My only issue is quadrant gets stuck at first test... i tried force stop>clear data.....and installed the standard quadrant....no luck any suggestions? Quadrant also wont run for me  The screen come up saying CPU 0/12 etc but no tests get run. I then press home screen and it FC's
Guest LorD CLockaN Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Reset should fix the problem with quadrant... Quadrant comes as a system app in Steves ROM, so try to remove the q.apk from system/app and than install it from market

After flashing and reflashing and factory resetting countless times, the only thing that worked was 1. Flash to 1.5.1 2. Factory Reset using the stock Android Recovery (Option 1) 3. Let it boot up to 1.5.1 4. Flash 1.6.1 WITHOUT wiping or factory resetting thru clockwork. This is the only way that let 1.6.1 boot up for me.

I'll try removing q.apk first. To be honest I'm not that bothered if quadrant works or not, this is the first time ive used it. I just hope there arent other apps that dont work.
Guest LorD CLockaN Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) I wastn't thinking on factory reset, only restart your phone  Edited January 23, 2011 by LorD CLockaN

Kept getting stuck in boot loop or boot freeze, then kept going back to 1.5.1 to factory reset. At the end I installed 1.6.1 but I don't even remember how many times I flashed and did factory resets. Now 1.6.1 freezes on me and the battery drains far too quick for no apparent reason. Back to 1.6.0 for me unfortunately.

Battery drain wise, havent really had a chance to test first. Will check it out.

Quadrant only works in portrait, make sure the streak is in portrait before you start quadrant and also while running it. If it gets stuck it's because dells security won't let it do it's own rotation thing (quadrant appears to be doing something dodgy) and it's locked, so you need to kill quadrant using a task killer or reboot before trying again.

Thanks!!! +1 here, cracking job Stephen... Well done! I still have niggling doubts about battery power, will keep looking for a solution - bearing in mind that others get 20+ hrs overclocked.
