Just Flashed 1.6.1 from 1.6.0 did not do any thing else and went on with no problems

just use Bios in the config.txt has I already had Launcher pro+ on ..every thing seems to work fine Camera/Audio

SetCPU is set at 998/245 and the Quadrant is 1946

the boot up surprised me with all the text but still very nice.

Thanks

Did what you recommended worked

but I also had to unlock from landscape

Setcpu to 1228800 with smartass

only got 1600 in quadrant

How can i boost that up?

thats odd..

you must run quadrant allways twice! second time is the winner

what arguments did you use in install.txt??

+1 here, cracking job Stephen... Well done!

I still have niggling doubts about battery power, will keep looking for a solution - bearing in mind that others get 20+ hrs overclocked.

Cheers

Brian

+1 here, great build and super fast. Getting 2300 in quadrant. I think most of the problems reported are due to lack of patience. First boot after upgrade takes a long time to finish and you MUST not interrupt the process. You must read very carefully the instructions more than once for each build before flashing. First boot i was getting FC in laucherpro. After reboot some icons on the home page didn't show correctly and when i clicked them i got FC's. i let the phone rest for 10 min and the icons re-appeared and everything was fine. Leave the phone to rest after first boot for about 15-20min. then you can decide if you actually have a problem or not.

I still have battery issue. With my Mugen 1800 i charge it and before i go to sleep at 1:30am i unplugged. At 10:30 when i woke up it was at 73%. I have no widgets running. Only thing is K-9 and gmail, no facebook or twitter.

battery never lasts me more then 7-8 hours tops

if anyone could help me with this i would appreciate it.

thanks for this build Steve.

1.6.1 is the first ROM that has caused problems for me, every other upgrade has been really smooooooth but this one fc'd all over the place.

Flashed 1.5.1 (download from streakdroid)

Battery out instead of rebooting

Go into recovery on startup and factory reset

Allow 1.5.1 to boot and then installed 1.6.1

thanks to all for that tip.

Appears to be sorted now. Feels very quick, in the 5 mins I was back on 1.5.1 it was really noticeable how the ROMs have improved. Incredible considering the short amount of time between builds - thanks Steve.

Couple of fc's still, mainly with the tabmail app.

Still cant get Quadrant to run but thats been the case for some time now - whatever the numbers, its bloody quick !

Same here. Before doing this 1.6.1 was giving me endless FC's for acore, gmail, swype (strange since I used the noswype option). It was also rebooting to the StreakDroid logo every few minutes. I was getting bombarded with so many FC's that I had to pull the battery as it wouldn't let me use the power button. Now, things are smooth sailing with Quadrant scores at around 1861, not sure why most are getting 2000+. I would definitely suggest this method to anyone having issues.

Yep, thought I well and truly killed my Streak earlier, my desktop wouldn't allow QDL tool (x64 win7 issues) but this did the trick.

Im pretty sure it was because I tried to upgrade last night @ midnight and was impatient so kept pulling the battery thinking it was locking up.

Did it again today with a four year old daughter and wife to distract me and sure enough left alone it booted fine after flashing to 1.5.1 and back again!

Weird, installed update just like every previous one, booted...everything looked fine. Tried to update Adfree (as mentioned above) "no partition". Tried to launch Root Explorer, fc, gapps, fc, etc. Uninstalled Adfree and Root Explorer, tried to reinstall, download fine but on installation I get an "invalid package" error. Just rebooted, stuck on first Dell logo (never had issues with this before). Am I on track for a factory reset or should I revert to 1.6.0 until the next update?

Update, I used the 1.51, Dell Factory Reset, 1.61 approach and now I'm running 1.6.1 like a champ, no FC's and booting normally. Adfree isn't working, no "reboot" shortcuts (quickboot, system info widgets, etc.) work, and despite reinstalling busybox to /system/bin I can't get ROM Manager's "fix permissions" to work. Nothing catastrophic though and probably due to the changes to the internal memory card.

1152mhz max, 348mhz min, smartass

Quadrant: 2360 (second try)

Linpack: 37.814 (third try)

My recommendation to others:

Backup all of your stuff using something like Titanium and do the full factory reset for this upgrade. There was a ton of "system" apps leftover from numerous previous versions, especially prior to 1.51 when you couldn't factory reset stevo's ROM.

Just curious.... has anyone else received over 3000 in quadrant? On a clean install running at max speed the highest I've been able to get is 2501.

Running at 384/1152000 with smartass I get around 2300, which rocks for everyday use!

My install options:

launcherpro

us160

bios

gbkb

No, I was wondering the same.

Excellent job Steve!!! I finally upgraded from 1.1.1 and this is the one release I was waiting for, the only thing I'm missing is adFree  everything else i needed works, that being fring and camera360 (the most bizarre apps that didn't work well before).

I tried clearing data and renstalling adblock a couple times, but didn't work.

To everybody who thinks they have their Install.CFG file - DON'T FORGET THAT IT MUST BE CHANGED to .TXT

Read the instructions.

Upgraded from 1.6.0 didn't boot normally

Factory reset it, boot, apply update, boot.

This is my install.cfg :

volboost

tabmail

bios

It keeps rebooting after detecting flash rom. I've already deleted update-1.6.0.zip from sd card. Any one knows how to copy from pc to sd card without any card reader ? Tried adb push, but it needs to boot normally first.
