Guest popetodd Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Fantastic ROM! As with others there were problems when going straight to 1.6.1 from 1.6.0, but backing down to 1.5.1 and doing the reset dance fixed all of that right up. If you are having problems read back a few pages about going down to 1.5.1 and dancing the battery pull jig, it may well save you some headache. Quadrant gives me 2847@1970Mhz, bloody outstanding!
Guest LorD CLockaN Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Sorry for late reply, but my first upload blocked near the end https://rapidshare.com/files/444188252/update-1.5.1.zip
Guest User Error Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Only getting a score of 1927 in quadrant. Overclocked to 1119, thought I should be getting higher scores? Linpack is down to 34.xx as well. Any ideas on why?
Guest Amdathlonuk Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 It's amazing how big this ROM is getting.... 1.5.1 is 145Mb 1.6.1 is 200Mb!! What is making it increase so much? I downloaded a new ROM for my Friends Nexus earlier and it was 67Mb, I cancelled it and retried as I thought it was wrong....LOL
Guest rockymtnbri Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Still not working - back to 1.6.0.
Guest Stevewt Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Flashed directly from1.6.0 to 1.6.1 with no factory reset or other issues. 13 minutes to first boot, than had to shut down and reboot due to the advised FCs. Everything seems fine on second boot except the reported problem with AdFree. Thanks Stephen!

Guest at_homeuk Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Steve, Firstly great work for the Dell Streak... I am an avid follower of your ROM's and needless to say they put Dell's efforts to shame, over the last few months I have seen this community grow, its nice to see everyone helping each other. Unfortunately I am reverting back to 1.6.0 which for me was stable, as 1.6.1 has caused many problems and taken many hours to install and configure. That said coming from an IT Networking back ground I have found the instructions here invaluable. I now have some if a little knowledge of the Dell Streak. I have tried to resolve the issue with Adfree following instructions here and on other sites. I have managed to update the host file but where before ads were blocked this is not now always the case. Seeing adds on free applications doesn't overly bother me, of course we have to remember that free applications are that "free" and if a developer recoups some costs via ads then so be it but Adfree was able to block ads on websites where without Adfree I am inundated with pop ups which as an user is unacceptable. I will shortly donate and again would like to say thank you for your efforts. I look forward to 1.6.2. Kind Regards Peter.

Guest jonnybruce Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Just went to set my alarm and found I can only use the android system ringtones. Before I could pick anything from the music player. Now the only other option is an htcringtonepicker or something that just fcs when you try it. Anyone else got this?
Guest Ben TP Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Still can't get mine to reboot  Tried updating with update-1.5.1.zip, just stopped at the white logo. Flashed it again with official froyo, it keeps rebooting after colored logo. Back to 1.6.1, put install.txt on sdcard-> streakdroid, update from recovery clockwork, completed normally. But when booting, it keeps rebooting after 2nd initialization message and after detecting rom. Any ideas ?
Guest WakeRider89 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Hey steve im having problems with 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 not installing the txt file. When 1.6 came out i followed the instructions to the letter and placed the install.cfg in android/streakmod folder on the root of the sd and installed the zip. It booted up with no bios startup, no tabmail, or any other settings I wanted. Here is the .cfg adwlauncher noffc transparent tabmail teetermod us160 bios I have now upgraded to 1.6.1 and tried the new way with putting the install.txt straight on the root, but it just booted up with my same settings from 1.6.0. I can tell that it's snappier and my quadrant jumped about 600 points. Here are the settings I tried noffc transparent tabmail teetermod us160 bios noswype zeam gbkb Any advice on this issue would be much appreciated! Been following you since 1.4.6 and will donate of course!
Guest lukew Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Have in install.txt: only 1 line: US160 FLashed 1.5.1, did factory reset from white screen dell menu, booted up, flashed 1.6.1, let it sit for a while. Only 1 remaining problem: Pressing voice activation on bluetooth headset, brings up bluetooth voice dialer box, say Starting up..., line through microphone, and goes no further. Voice dialer through the speaker does work. Thanks Steve for a great build.. If I get the bluetooth voice dial to work, it will be perfect!!! I do have a logcat file, but it will not let me upload it, say I am not permitted to upload this file type.

Try flashing 1.5.1 first. Let it boot. If it gets stuck at boot, reboot and factory reset from the Dell Recovery. It should then boot to 1.5.1. Reboot again and flash 1.6.1. Do NOT factory reset/ wipe cache or davlik. Just flash 1.6.1 over. That worked for me.
Guest TheSacredSoul Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I+ve tried several times.. It sais: wget: bad adress 'www.mvps.org' I couldnt get it working either. Just downloaded the txt file from mvps manually, formatted to UNIX in notepad++ and pushed it to etc/hosts. Seems to be working fine.

Guest Mark ...... Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) I've spent the last 4 hours trying to get this to work, I was on stock 2.2, I flashed ams to 1.5.1, then I flashed 1.5.1, and did a factory reset. I then flashed 1.6.1 and basically have had no luck at all getting anywhere further. What's the first thing I should do? Basically, I see the asci-android guy and it sits there on initializing ..............\ Edited January 24, 2011 by Mark ......
Guest pompeyboyz Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I had serious problems after not noticing the install.cfg from 1.6.0 had to be moved and renamed install.txt for 1.6.1 spent all of yesterday trying and failing and eventually got it working after doing the following. - do a factory reset from inital streak 4 options but hold volume keys during boot to get back into the options once more. - revert back to 1.5.1 and once installed select reboot from clockwork and agian hold volume keys down. - do a factory reboot and do volume keys once more. - install 1.6.1 and reboot normally. - shut down and reflash 1.6.1 in clockwork. Jobs a good un
