Was running pretty good until I made some changes to ADW EX settings, then nothing but FC's for everything including Google core services.

After a reflash it looks good again.

Did you restore desktop configuration on adw ex, I tried it and it screwed up the apps on the screen (not the app drawer)?

I did a reset on adw ex and added the widget / apps again. Works fine for me.

same here, i was having FCs and widgets not showing up, removed the widgets and readded and its fine...

now though some apps and functions arent 100%. VEVO for example is flippin out all the time. Bluetooth music streaming cuts in and out

oh yeah , what fards was trying to tell you was "get rid of the autokiller!!!!"

That's a memory optimiser... Android does the task killing as it would normally do reaching full memory - in theory it gives you more cache to speed up responsiveness without killing tasks.

I don't think that's the problem - although if fards has different ideas it would be good to hear them.

I did same sort of thing and thought I was screwed. I did the following to get out of it

- do a factory reset from inital streak 4 options but hold volume keys during boot to get back into the options once more.

- revert back to 1.5.1 and once installed select reboot from clockwork and again hold volume keys down(don't let it boot up).

- do a factory reboot and do volume keys once more(again don't let it fully boot up).

- install 1.6.1 and reboot normally.

- shut down and reflash 1.6.1 in clockwork.

I am going to try this first.

I had the same issue...

1. Restore with Nandroid a backup

2. Boot up complete

3. Do a factory reset from first screen before the cw start.

4. Install 1.6.0 over this and boot in it.

5. Install 1.6.1 on this and reboot again.

6. Then reinstall all apps again ( I done it with appmonster backup.)

7. Now my works smooth.

Do I have to have created a Nandroid back up for this ?

( Disclaimer : As before, this ROM is heavily updated and still being developed at a fairly rapid pace. Bugs are listed below.)

This rom now has data2ext support inbuilt, heavily modified version of my original perfmod hack, this one works very well and seems stable. it may require a factory reset in order to boot correctly. the instructions for doing this are below. also it is a known problem that first boot will have a few force closes mainly in acore process. a reboot fixes this normally.

fac reset instructions

1. download streakdroid 1.5.1 from downloads.streakdroid.com/djsteve if you do not already have it,

2. flash this to your streak using clockwork/streakmod

3. factory reset using the dell screen (4 option menu)

4. let device boot up

5. flash 1.6.1 and relish in perfmod goodness

I tried installing 1.6.1 direct from 1.6.0 and it started great but when i reboot the streak it would freeze on android screen ( i used the bios option in my .txt file). Left it like that for 30mins with no change.

So i like to simplify things. So all i did is reinstall android 2.1 O2 original and from there went strait to 1.6.1. I use rebel simcard so that is why i started from 2.1 strait to 1.6.1 instead of going through 2.2.

But works great. For those getting dell logo stuck or restart don't stress you can always fix it easily as long as you can access the sd card. Best way if you don't have it built in your pc is to buy a cheap sd card reader at bestbuy or something like that.

My only problem is i can't seem to get the Galaxy Tab Email Client. Every time i can start the program but when i press the refresh button in the bottom left corner it just closes and give me an error.

So just reinstalled 1.6.1 without that opition but it's too bad it doesn't work because it seams to be nice.

Talking about email program. Does anybody use the email app and often get notifications of old emails that you have deleted from the app but not from the actual email site?

FINALLY!

So, I called AT&T today (im in canada), and ask them for the unlock code.

So, my question is, will I have to wrestle with my streak to get from 1.6.1 nobaseband, to 1.6.1 with the updated baseband?

Or should it be rather painless?

Your in Canada. Was your streak locked with rogers ( all canadian streaks are locked with them) or is a AT&T version you bought online?

Downgrade from Stephen Hyde's 2.2 to O2 2.1 (build 8105)

1. Download the O2 2.1 (build 8105) file from

http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...rboot-recovery/

2. Rename the file to Update.pkg and copy it to the root of your SD Card.

3. Download this zip file which contains a recovery for downgrading from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8LDVERY4

4. Move the recovery.img file to wherever your fastboot.exe is.

5. Put your Streak into fastboot mode.

6. Open up command line type: fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.stock.new.img

7. Hold down both the volume buttons and type: fastboot -i 0x413c reboot in command line.

8. In recovery select Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card using volume keys and camera button to select. Be patient it will take a while.

9. The Streak will reboot and you are now on O2 2.1 (build 8105).

Yes, I understood the same. I have downloaded the update, but I am not sure where to find the instructions to update the baseband.

Yes, in MTL. But no, I bought mine when I first came out, locked to AT&T.

Gps is def working with 1.6.1 awsome also wallpaper now fixed with zeam launcher using (manage wallpaper internally) no more updating for me lol this is beyond perfect now

Hi,

I recently installed 1.6.1 (1.5.1->1.6.1) then, when i wanted to reflash 1.6.1 because of no application would install everything went bad.

I had the boot animation installed on so I can see what's happening. First time after reflash it goes all the way to "ANDROID" (written with ascii) "Initializing". After that it gets stuck, the animation restarts and goes to detecting "Flash ROM ..." It stays like this abit and restarts endlesly.

Please advise.
