Guest oppiz Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Hi, I recently installed 1.6.1 (1.5.1->1.6.1) then, when i wanted to reflash 1.6.1 because of no application would install everything went bad. I had the boot animation installed on so I can see what's happening. First time after reflash it goes all the way to "ANDROID" (written with ascii) "Initializing". After that it gets stuck, the animation restarts and goes to detecting "Flash ROM ..." It stays like this abit and restarts endlesly. Please advise. Sorry for the impatience but I do not have much time left and I need to fix this. Fix a newbie's phone please.
Guest Kohawk Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Sorry for the impatience but I do not have much time left and I need to fix this. Fix a newbie's phone please. flash 1.5.1, boot up, factory reset, boot up, flash 1.6.1, reboot x2.

Guest rovex Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Nothing i do will make 1.6.1 work for me. It locks up often, and any reboot, planned or not, will just wipe all settings and im back to having to re-enter all info and restoring back ups of apps and Launcherpro settings.
Guest cowballz Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Make sure you do this http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1574541 what lol?
Guest fards Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 what lol? bloody silly system, serves me right for trying to post stuff on the streak while reading Harry potter to my daughter.. I was trying to link to my post on the last page... #725 ok if you're on 161 there's some scripts steve stuck in system/bin that are causing the adfree and other issues. in adb shell (or a term or whatever) su cd /system/bin rm chmod chown df mv mount umount Or alternatively delete chmod chown df mv mount umount using root explorer from /system/bin/ it should work better then

Guest mmmputch Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) Hey Steve, Thanks for the new rom! Have you checked this out? It might help with the wifi connection getting stuck at connecting or obtaining ip address. I have this problem often and have to disable and re-enable my wifi to connectto my network. Maybe you could integrate this into your next rom. [WiFi] DHCPCD Issues and How To Avoid Them (ROM maintainers please read) I found this on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907772 Just an update... I downloaded the zip in this post and replaced the dchp file in /system/bin and it works great! I reconnect every time to my network without having to disable and re-enable my wifi. I think steve should incorporate this into his next build. If anyone else who has issues with wifi connecting, test this and report their results. Just be sure to either rename or back up your original file so you can revert back if you have any problems. Edited January 24, 2011 by mmmputch
Guest joeg6217 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 There's 2 parts to this post. 1) I've found this build, 1.6.1, to be the most stable, the fastest, and the best for conserving battery of all the builds I've tried. Brilliant. 2) Why can Dell, who have spent so much money on producing and marketing the Streak plus the money they stand to make selling it, only produce a buggy and slow version of Android despite the fact they took their time to release it?
Guest scottd10 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Steve, In the US build .prop you missed one property - ro.com.android.dateformat=dd-MM-yyyy SHOULD BE MM-dd-yyyy... Not that affects anyone, but just thought I will mention it Awesome build! I can't seem to connect to our exchange server any ideas?
Guest scottd10 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I am unable to connect to my exchange server since loading this build any ideas?

Guest lukew Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Bluetooth Voice Dial issue with 1.6.1 Steve, Attached is the logcat file from phone at idle to pressing the bluetooth voicedial button on the headset, through the Bluetooth Voice dialer box appearing, saying starting up.... and then going no further.... The phone does prompt "Speak Now" through the headset before the bluetooth voice dialer locks up. Hopefully this will help resolve the problem.log.txt

Your picture shows you are trying to do a backup, if you are using 161, then by default it is using a loop file system for the data position, known as the perfmod, as this is set up when the operating system loads, it won't be mounted properly in clockwork/streakmod as far as I know so its not going to nandroid backup properly.

But the restoring of the backups works. I just reload it before maybe 20 min.
