Put your phone into fastboot mode, wait 10 sec, connect cable to computer.

Open command prompt, and navigate to where you have fastboot.exe, and have the recovery.img in the same directory.

Type:

fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img

done.

I am not sure you can install recovery image from root of sd card but this is how it work for me.

Download and put RECOVERY IMAGE into your android\tools folder (I also put amss.mbn file here, this make it easier to install).

Start up command prompt by go into your Window start BAR and select run (I am still using XP lol).

Type CMD (new dos window will open).

Type CD\

Type CD android* (your android sdk folder)

Press and hold camera and power button on your dell until a white screen come on then press fastboot.

Plug your dell to your computer system using the data cable.

Back to DOS window. Type fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img (if system prompt error then type fastboot-windows -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img)

wait for it to finish then type fastboot -i 0x413c reboot or fastboot-windows -i 0x413c reboot).

Recovery mode is now installed on your streak.

To access recovery mode, power off your streak.

Press and hold Vol up & vol down with power on button at the same time, wait for couple seconds and your dell will boot up into recovery mode.

Usefull tips.

Problem with ADB then google ADB Installer Android Tools, download and install.

Problem with dead Dell, can't go into fastboot, black scrreen then google QDL repairtool for Dell Streak, download, run.

I took apart my streak to swap the internal sd for a class 10.

I noticed that I dont need to have the back cover on to boot.

Did I mess something up, or are steves ROMs just like that?

Thanks.

It appears after a battery pull, if I reflash the ROM again it fixes the issue and I am up and running as previously configured.

Proper shutdowns and restarts don't seem to cause the problem.

Yup battery pull isn't able to sync the loop so the data that's in the cache messes up I guess.

Hey Steve,

I'm LOVING this build but there's one gamebreaker for me. I'm going to donate $5 USD so if you could please figure out a way to fix this it would be awesome! Basically, there's this app called Video Live Wallpaper (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804720) that worked with all of your builds prior to 1.6.0. What it does is allow you to turn any video into a live wallpaper for your phone, which is friggin awesome. However, in both 1.6.0 and 1.6.1, it continuously force closes when you view it in the wallpaper selector, set it to your background, or otherwise try and run the app. My install.txt is:

launcherpro

tabmail

us160

volboost

If you know of any way to get this working I'd be really appreciative, as it's my absolute favorite UI app for the Streak.

Thanks,

-Trevor

Figured as much as soon as I realized there was a loop device running (didn't pick that up until you mentioned it).

Not really a problem that can't be fixed anyway, I just reflash and all is good in the world again.

Just have to make sure I do a proper shutdown when changing batteries from now on, I really like the speed increases that I get on 1.6.1 too much to drop back down in revs.

Just finished modifying the update zip to remove those files in bin and added the new QO so now a reflash doesn't require reconfiguring to get it back to what I want.

Thanks again Fards, your modifications and Steve's builds are nothing short of amazing on this device.

This isn't a problem with Steves rom, I found this on the stock 2.2 a couple of weeks back. Something about non-mobile wikipedia really dislikes the Streak.

I have installed the 1.6.1 and man this is one seriously fast Tom. DJ Steve is amazing. I got a score of 2197

Using Quadrant that came with the Tom. Before was only getting 1979 on the 1.5.3.

Keep the Streakdroid ahead by miles from the stock Rom

I got over 2800 on my second test but there are caveats involved: I had just done the install and had not installed ANY software yet so I was testing with nothing but the kernel, the interface, setCPU and Quadrant running.

My average with everything installed in a BAU configuration is around 2400.

Bluetooth Voice Dial issue with 1.6.1

Steve,

Attached is the logcat file from phone at idle to pressing the bluetooth voicedial button on the headset, through the Bluetooth Voice dialer box appearing, saying starting up.... and then going no further....

The phone does prompt "Speak Now" through the headset before the bluetooth voice dialer locks up.

Hopefully this will help resolve the problem.

I'm having the same exact issue with my Jawbone ICON bluetooth headset. This really needs to get fixed for safety reasons.

+1. I'm having the same problem with my Plantronics Voyager 510. Let me know what I can do to help. Incredible build otherwise.
