So I posted this thread over at the XDA Dev forum awhile ago which pretty much details my issue. I can't understand why or how to solve it at face value but then again, I'm new to the smartphone scene and I just learned of the hard reset command a little while back.

Anyways, the issue is still prevalent here, so I'll go over it again: I'm running WM 6.5 Professional(CE OS 5.2.21856 (Build 21856.5.0.65)) and I can't properly enable the Windows Mobile Designer Themes on my Omnia 2. I can't access the requires Settings menu to do so because I think that the Samsung UI is overriding the Windows Mobile Start Menu that's required to enable the themes.

Here's a video to make it easier to explain what I mean

Skip to about 1:15. You can see the announcer touch Start and then Settings. I can do this as well, but if you watch just afterwards, after tapping the Settings button, his phone opens another menu with the Windows Mobile UI. It's like a sub-menu inside the menu.

Mine does not. Instead, when I hit Start and then Settings, I get a Samsung UI, which is a completely different menu. I can still access themes from one of the Display sub-menus in there but when I change the theme, not very much changes. Some of the colour combinations are swapped around but I still don't get the entire Windows Mobile designer theme look as seen in the video.

I have Widgets turned off when I navigate to the Items on Today menu with several other items, such as Date, Time, and Messages turned on. On my desktop, they don't show up in any extraordinary way; they just literally sit there with their 10 point Arial font, as opposed to what the theme shows in the video.

The themes in this phone are the designer themes. I've copied them over more than once just to make sure. Hell, they come with the phone. I can actually view them when I go to Themes in the Samsung UI menu I mentioned above. I've copied over and ran the sdkcerts.cab file. I can also actually run the Theme files with my File Explorer, which is through the use of the Windows Mobile, but even so, I don't get the designer theme but only just the wallpaper and the colour scheme.

Okay guys, I got a bit of an update: I edited the registry and got the Windows Mobile settings menu to pop up instead of the bullshit Samsung one I've been receiving, so that's a start. However, I still can't get themes working. I downloaded and ran the new SDK certifications as found here too. The background changes, the colour scheme works itself over, but I'm still not getting the sleek Windows Mobile designer theme desktop interface I see everywhere. ):
