Guest IronDoc Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 i dont actually think it is a contact should mean a contact you cant wiggle out or go actually instead of giving you £30 quid a month as per the contact ill just give you £5 cos you dont need the money. wich is what there saying cutting down from 3gb to 0.5 gb and saying well you dont need the data annyway use your broadband if you cant why should they be able to ? Exactly right. The cheek of that 'use your broadband' line is unbelievable.
Guest Azurren Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 You are overreacting enormously. All networks do these things from time to time; this isn't Armageddon. Say you pay for an "Unlimited calls" plan.. Your happy, you chat to your girl friend all day. She thinks it's wonderful as she can nag you where ever you are :D Then, suddenly T-Mobile change your "Unlimited" calls to a fair usage policy of "100mins" a month as anymore would "Damage your health and increase the risk of cancer" I only use my phone for data, stream videos etc. They may as well have told me to just give them £15 a month for nothing

My comment has nothing to do with that. T-mobile is wrong, but Azzuren seems to think that T-mobile is suddenly the impersonation of the devil. The offer is not so good anymore, but each of the networks has hidden costs, makes these kind of blunders from time to time, etc. s*** happens. They have been exposed, changed the unfair part back (i.e. they honour the contract) and everyone now knows their new offer is poor. That will punish them enough, without the need to exaggerate how terrible this all is. Say you pay for an "Unlimited calls" plan.. Your happy, you chat to your girl friend all day. They made a blunder, you are back on to what you are entitled to, and only new users will have poor value for money. Again, nothing special in teloecommunication land, and T-mobile is not special there :D . Edited January 12, 2011 by gambieter
Guest m4rts Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 The page has now changed: “On Monday 10 January 2011 we announced that, in line with the rest of the industry, T-Mobile would be reducing its Fair Use Policy for data usage to 500MB a month for all mobile phone customers. Following a further review of our policy, these changes will now be introduced from 1 February, to new and upgrading customers only - not existing customers. There will be no change to the data packages for existing customers for the duration of their contract and we apologise for any confusion caused. The revision to the Fair Use Policy is designed to ensure an improved quality of service for all mobile internet users."

Again, nothing special in teloecommunication land, and T-mobile is not special there :D . They did not 'make a blunder'. They made it pretty clear it would affect existing customers. They made a deal with us then attempted to go back upon that deal. Just because they realised we had legal right to cancel the contract (something they were telling people was wrong) and changed it back does not excuse their actions. In fact, I was never even notified of the changes and from reading the comments around places, this was pretty common. I don't know fredewis. I guess you get 500MB.
Guest leetron1 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 do you want me to merge it ? I defer to your greater experience & leave it to you..its a small matter me thinks :D

Not trying to be anal or anything but me and this other guy posted about the climb down on that thread about 2 hours before this one was made. But I don't blame you I was excited when I first saw too :D
Guest Azurren Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) Yeah it was clear that it wasn't a blunder. They really thought they could get away with changing the terms of our contracts, it wasn't worded poorly and was as clear as day. If it wasn't for everyone cancelling they wouldn't have changed it Edited January 12, 2011 by Azurren
Guest gambieter Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 They did not 'make a blunder'. Yes, they did make a blunder. They hadn't expected a PR backlash, which is the blunder.

Guest Azurren Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 so what hapoensto us pay and go customerz? kmt....im on the unlimited internet and text if u top up 10 everymonth and give you 10 of credit?? I suppose that unless they state "1gb internet" as opposed to "unlimited" then it will be 500mb :D Yes, they did make a blunder. They hadn't expected a PR backlash, which is the blunder. In that sense yeah you are 100% right :P
Guest IronDoc Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Yes, they did make a blunder. They hadn't expected a PR backlash, which is the blunder. Fair enough. In my mind blunder isn't really a strong enough word, either for the PR mistake or the breach of contract.
