Guest Azurren Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 All TFT have this grid of small dots compared to the OLED. My OLED has this.. I think its found with all capacitive touch screens

Guest The Alpha Gamer Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Is the power button you guys are talking about the one on the top of the phone? Mine's silver! Not white or black =/

Guest HMZX Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 They are on about the hardware UNDER the plastic button - the bit soldered onto the board yeah for that I got a white button too!! is that any good?? lol ;)
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 yeah for that I got a white button too!! is that any good?? lol ;) Apparently the newer ones have them - maybe ZTE improved them - as users in this forum were complaining - or maybe they got some returns - so decided it needed a better part.
Guest Matty-p Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 helpful! ;) well it proves that not all capacitive sreens have it so actually it is

I still had the vertibram one and i brought mine on the 27 of Dec
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Just an updated, I showed my phone to a friend who has an iphone and he was so impressed by the price and how much cool stuff it can do that he has got one himself, same shop and I had a look and its got all the stuff that I explained on the first page, I tested out file transfer and putting in other sd cards and its fine so I guess my first one was just unlucky. Whenever I have gone in the shop it has been fairly busy so they must have ordered this batch fairly recently On a side note i was kinda concerned when orange took care putting the phone I returned back in its box and making it look like no one has used it before them and me, they even reset it to factory settings even though I already said that I done it before I come down to return it so do you guys think they might be resealing them and selling them as new. If they are then someone will be in for a surprise when they realise that there is already a custom recovery on there ;), well that plus the fact that sd cards dont work Edited January 16, 2011 by Richard_Arkless

Guest wbaw Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I got a grey tft san francisco from the orange shop just before christmas & had to have it replaced shortly after christmas due to a dead touchscreen. I noticed the power button on the new one was white, rather than black on the old one & the build quality seems better, the back fits perfectly & the buttons seemed to fit better, although they have got a bit squeaky after a bit of use. Had no problems with the touchscreen on this new one so far either. I got a Verbatim 2gb sd card, but maybe they took it out of my old phone, as it was a replacement, I'd wiped it before returning anyway. They put my old sim card in while they were in the back out the shop, so it was probably my old sd card too. So, I think it's a new batch & built slightly better than some of the older ones.
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 one thing they need to improve though is that the height of the back isnt exactly the same height as the phone so theres a tiny bit not covering the bottom, but its not noticeable, even I didnt notice it until it had a couple of expressos in me ;)
Guest agpoli Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 /snip 2. the actual power button (the one on the phone, not the button on the back cover) is white and seems slightly bigger than in the previous ones, (It could be bigger because it hasnt got chipped yet when you put the back cover back on incorrectly) /snip My first Blade (bought around nov 20. hungarian with 256 MB RAM and the gradient issue) also had a white power button. The second one (512 MB RAM, no gradient issue) which I'm using now has a black one.
Guest gambieter Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 The replacement SF for the faulty one I mentioned earlier was a (probably refurbished) grey version with ROM version B05 and an OLED screen, so definitely not a new batch ;)
Guest fLaMePr0oF Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Hi today I bought this phone today and as soon as I took it out of the box I noticed a few differences, my little sister has got an oled version and my other sister got the tft one at christmas 1. the back is not squeeking and fits perfectly and is now a pain to get off 2. the actual power button (the one on the phone, not the button on the back cover) is white and seems slightly bigger than in the previous ones, (It could be bigger because it hasnt got chipped yet when you put the back cover back on incorrectly) 3. it feels more solid and buttons dont have that squeeking noise in them 4. the default sd card it came with was a sandisk 2gb microsd card instead of the verbation Now the bad bits, I dunno if its just my phone but with the sd card, when I plug the phone in and I start copying or doing something, about 10 seconds later it says please plug in drive x: like it has been unplugged, tried different operating systems and computers and same problem, also tried the card in another phone and its fine and when I replace the sd card with any of the other ones I get this issue where it detects it then prepares it and its fine then it says it was removed unexpectedly a couple of seconds later I think it might be an the issue with the above but every custom rom I try and flash it ends up saying can not open /sdcard/x.zip (bad) im going to take it back tomorrow to get a replacement so hopefully the issues I stated above get solved I got one of these (with the white power button) as a replacement for my first one with faulty wifi... It had exactly the same fault; SD card would diss-connect whenever an app wrote to the card, couldn't even nandroid backup the phone and my 4GB SDHC card wouldn't even mount. Eventually managed to backup etc when I discovered that an old 512 MB sd card worked fine. Anyway, returned to store and got replacement, (black power button), and all is fine, even 4GB SDHC card (TDK) works now ;) Seems like this particular batch, (marked out by the white power button), may be prone to a fault with the SD card interface :) Get it replaced as faulty ;oP fLaMePr0oF Edited January 16, 2011 by fLaMePr0oF

Guest fLaMePr0oF Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) i tried that said the sd card is not covered by the warranty ;) In my case the fault was not the card; the card supplied with the phone didn't work, nor did a selection of alternatives... If you simply had a faulty card then they're correct and you should just change the card, however, if the phone is unreliable with cards you know are not faulty, you simply need to stand up for your rights. (You should also note that while they will talk about warranty conditions, all you should be interested in is your rights under the sale of goods at etc. which invariably offer you more protection than the manufacturers warranty. For example, Orange policy is only to replace with new / refund faulty products within the first 28 days, however, they are LEGALY OBLIGED to give you a no quibble refund or replacement for ANY fault occuring or becomming apparent within the first six months after purchase - sometimes you have to lay down the law and most importantly KNOW YOUR RIGHTS) I hate retailers who try to put people off with cursory refusals to honour their consumer rights, but I have little sympathy for consumers who simply roll over and take it (Not necesarily you btw :)) Edited January 16, 2011 by fLaMePr0oF

My legal rights can break the stalemate. But sometimes you have to help the other person and prompt them a bit. "The law requires that you _______. If you can't do this, then you need to get someone who can." If the person you are talking to is a bit too strong for their actual authority, you can try lines: "Well, it looks like I'll be using your name in my small-claims court action, unless you want to get your manager." I've not had to try that one yet.
