Guest rupert_hollom Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Finally bit the bullet and got myself an Omnia 7, very pleased with it so far. At home I have got a DLNA server running with all my media on it that I use to stream to the PS3, computers, TV etc, just wondering if there was a way that I could see the DLNA server from the phone so I could play music that way, rather than syncing it via Zune? Had a quick look around and can't find an app that will do it, but perhaps I am missing something? Cheers, Rupert
Guest awarner Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 As far as I am aware WP7 is not DLNA enabled at the momet, some have claimed the LG is but I do not think that is correct at the moment.

Looks like I'll have to break out Visual Studio and see what I can do... Just need to find some free time first!

One thing's for sure Rupert is that you'll have a lot of interested people in your progress. It's probably the biggest thing that I miss from my old Omnia Pro!

I can easily make a DLNA program for wp7, but there is one big problem! There is no socket communication, so its not possible to send m-search telegram to discover the devices on the network. Its only possible with homebrew. But if i wrote this program, would like to put on marketplace.... so as we have a official socket communication, the program will be implemented...

With Mango you`ll don`t have this problem. i`ve heard that socket communication will be enabled in Mango. Thanks in advance if you decide to make this proyect, all of us will be beneficiated.
Guest awarner Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 Only LG WP7 devices as far as I know are DNLA enabled.
Guest Mig-L - Bell Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) You can use Tversity on your PC to share files.. And install myMedia from the marktplace, trial works fine... And your done.. I use all the time and you can stream any movies because tversity trancodes all files to WMV so you can see every thing on you phone and you even get subtitles.. These are my settings... Found on another forum.. http://forums.tversity.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=51993 Edited July 22, 2011 by Mig-L - Bell
