All,

keyboardfix for testing, AFTER you installed REV40 update.

Corrects up, down, left, right and questionmark.

Question: Does qwertz- keyboard to be fixed?

grtz Erik

I confirm...fixed!

Just "?" is mistaken using keyboard not in landscape (not useful in genera), you must use down arrow for "?" with vertical position.

thank you

Hmm.... i installed this update (REV40) and then the KB fix and im getting a lot of SOD (almost every time the backlight goes off)

Rev29 was stable.

Any insight on this?

Thanks and keep it up, the work youre doing is great.

SOD is still a mystery, also on I8000.

As far as I know it doesn't occur when connected to power/pc.

Also it doesn't occur if you put it to sleep yourself.

These are the workarounds I tried, and they work.

well it works. first tested a bit without keyfix. had to restart 3 times before complete start.

the first starts did freeze. after that it was okay. and 2 sod.

just installed keyfix. android started immediately no freezing.

hope it will be stable. thanks again

oke having sod again while typing this. so this means for me i'm having more sod with rev40 than with rev29..

how can this be. maybe bad luck?

Tjeerdos,

I had to restart 4 or 5 times before working well.

Do you "put" your device to sleep? Or do you wait for it to "fall" asleep?

SOD is still a problem, see Elbee's post on previous page at bottom. He has SOD problem on I8000 too. Workaround is to put it to sleep, if you wait to fall it to sleep, you risk SOD.

I'm having SOD too on my B7610, except when I put it into sleep by using the power/end call key. After booting, I kill all tasks with task-killer free app. (which I set to kill all my unwanted apps on screenoff.)

Immediatelyafter that, I put it to sleep 3 or 4 times with power/end call key in short time. After that it wakes up perfectly after half an hour or longer. And every time after that, when stop using phone I put it to sleep with this key (and check if it is by touching screen). This works perfect for me, I'm not bothered by it.

Darthveda, maybe you could try to re-run REV40 update, i.e. put zImage and o2b2update in "my storage" folder next to haret again and boot again?

If this doesn't work, you can allways run the 19 march kernel update again.

Or try rev40 with fresh install?

no i never wait until it goes to sleep i always do it with the button. actually i do it all the same way as you. even the putting it to sleep in a short time.

before the fresh install i was spoiled with luck i think. maybe one sod a week or longer. i also noticed that mylock made a bit trouble. when unlocking i had a strange screen and freeze. installed again and its oke now. actually i only use that because it wakesup faster. so i will try to disable it again. and wait what android will do. thanks again...

fresh install with new rev 40 today and found one problem:

music does not play through headphones jack when connected, it only comes out the phone speaker, as if the headphones are not plugged in. never had this problem with previous rev 29 or others as i use music a lot.

anybody got this?

fixed the problem that music player reacted on keyboardslide.

but the real GPIO_EAR_SEND_END is not found yet, so i commented it out in a struct with HEADSET and SEND/END info.

this may cause this effect.

so it is either one of the bugs or find the GPIO_EAR_SEND_END.

we did not found it yet.

anyone knows an action in winmo that could trigger this signal? could help us find the signal and solve bugs.

EDIT: problem could be solved by patching the struct in another way, i'll try this on the next update, but finding the GPIO pin is a way better solution ...

Athlos, thank you for taking time to do clean install. Awaiting you findings

Ok

Did a clean install with following order:

Wiped My storage

Wiped SD

Install Beta 1024

Installed 2D/3D Drivers

Boot and ran the setup

Reboot

Reboot again (just to check Android worked)

Installed Rev40

Reboot

Installed KB Fix

Reboot

Findings:

Keyboard Works except the ? key and LEDs go off when the phone is locked

Earphones do not work

GPS working

3G and calling (with Call Light isntalled) working

Accelerometer working

Battery seems better and phone doesnt get as warm as before

SOD: It still occurs more frequently than when Rev29 was used (longest uptime before i manually rebooted was about 20 hours with rev29). It happened twice even when the phone was manually locked. Will test more on this.

Just a thought: If manual sleep is much more stable, would it be possible to find the exact OS command carried out by the lock button and then run it as an app or a command (with a configurable delay preferably)?

Dont know if i make any sense :D

Any comments-questions are welcome

Keep it up

Without re-install totally same problems of you.

- keyboard led timeout --> problem present with every release....at the moment no fix available

- earphones --> confirmed is a REV40 problem

- GPS, 3G, Calling --> working in every REV

- accelerometer, proximity sensor backlight --> working in REV29 and REV40

- SOD more times than previous REV29

I confirm "?" is not correct with NO landscape using keyboard (but this is a minor problem)

SOD is about 10/20 for day , depending on times your phone is waked up during day.... just ones in automatic sleep (not forced with key) and SOD can be present.

I confirm that wake up using key is faster than previous REVs and Battery indication is precise with a good power consumption

Powew consumption will be optimized when keyboard backlight will be fixed

Bye

Giorgio

I don't recognize the SOD's.

I have to confess I cheat a little. I have Advanced Task Killer (free) installed. I unchecked only apps that I want not to be killed when screen is off. In settings of Advanced Task Killer I set the auto killer frequency to "When screen off".

When I boot, before I put device to sleep for first time (or, let's say one minute after booting), I manually kill all checked tasks by activating Advanced Task Killer and then tap "Kill selected apps"

After that I use endcall/power key for screen off (sleep).

I only had one SOD with rev 40. That was when booting into Android after doing some GPIO search in winmo. I realised that I left my phone during boot because I had to walk my dog to prevent me from cleaning the house B). I.e. didn't do my ritual task-killing :D

Hope this can be helpfull to others.

I had Advanced Task Killer (free) installed too but "killer frequency" was not set to "when screen off"

I will try so this evening because for the moment I need to charge battery and in this condition SOD is never present.

thank you for your indication, I hope it could be the right solution.

i do it the same way. so no sod for me too . that is before my clean install. after that i did have them.

but then i installed the fix and no more sod since then.

so i am very happy again.

and its true if you do the task killer thing that helps a lot to prevent sod.

14 times no wake up since yesterday evening :D B) ;)

I set Advanced Task Killer as yours but when someone call me (not always) or after sleep time (not defined) it remains in sleep and I need to restart :D :D :(

I cannot use it so, no too much reliable! :(
